Tanu had made a post a few days ago about role reversal between Nidhi and Anji

Last night's episode seems to be an indication of an upcoming role-reversal between Ashutosh and Nidhi...

Ashutosh was once a man who was obsessed with his career to the exclusion of all else...it was all he had after all...the repeated abandonment had gotten him to develop a hard shell around himself...he cut himself away from any emotional bonds and lived like a hermit...

Nidhi was once a woman who wanted to stop and smell the roses...she wanted to live her life to the fullest...emotions and relationships were her strength...she easily forged bonds with people...and material success was irrelevant to her...as seen from her lack of any joy over her success in the medical exams...

Today, they seem to have crossed over to each other's corners...

AShutosh now wants home and family..he wants to be cocooned in the warmth of the love that he has found with Nidhi..as he indicated yesterday, his home has come to him with great difficulty...and he wants to preserve and hold on to it at all costs...he wants to make up for the emotional barrenness of his past...he wants to now build a family...

Nidhi, on the other hand, wants the success that Ashutosh has...emotionally secure already, she now wants to reach out for the professional stars...her personal life is slowly taking a backseat as she herself as acknowledged. Her priorities are changing. From the woman who wanted to go to the hospital to be with her husband, she is now a doctor who stays back at hospital for work, even when her husband is at home...

They have exchanged places...they are slowly becoming people, who are not quite the same as those that they fell in love with...

Nidhi loved Ashutosh for his ambition and his drive and his success...he is slowly losing his taste for that...

Ashutosh has already said he fell in love with Nidhi because of her love for children...subconsciously, he was looking to savour the maternal love that had never been his...Nidhi however is changing as her priorities are changing...

Will they still continue to stay in love with the people that they are becoming...how long will Ashutosh continue to sacrifice his dreams at the altar of her career...

Will Nidhi still find an Ashutosh, who is slowly becoming an emotionally needy person and one not so driven by his ambitions, attractive enough to stay in love with...

Will their love survive this role reversal...or will their love story be one more to fall by the wayside...?

Depends on how real the makers want to get!

Isnt this a real life situation, sujatha?
My hubby (then BF) had the reputation of being a Dr Ranganath...a flirt. Today he is !@#$% (cant describe). Before marriage I was a hopelessly practical person with no idea for romance (in fact my husband proposed to me and I needed someone else to translate that into plain Hindi to indicate to me that he was interested in me!!!!) today I am writing romantic FFs.
You never know...life kya turn leta hai...sab kuchh badal jaata hai.

That is exactly my point too, Doc...how well a couple negotiates the change will determine the survival of their relationship...the changes are far more fundamental in the case of this couple..

Good point Sujatha. After enduring everything that she did in the earliest days of her marriage Nidhi has probably realized that the only way to gain Ashu's complete trust in her as his wife is to gain his trust, confidence and respect in her as a doctor. She wants Ashu to be proud of her and never wants to put him in a position where he has to doubt her words, actions or opinions in any matter whatsoever. She wants that unconditional trust from him which was sorely lacking in those days. Yes, she goes to work simply because she does not know what else to do, but then his initial reactions to her at the hospital gets to her and makes her more determined than ever to prove herself.

She has come to realize that for Ashu to be able to open up to her, she has to break those age gap barriers that he has set up. She is striving to be an equal in this partnership and probably thinks that the way to Ashu's heart is through his mind. Maybe at this point Ashu feels Nidhi has proved herself and he himself has admired her maturity a few times. But it is not enough for her, she wants all those walls to break down.

ACtually there was a movie in the 80's based on this journey of a couple after marriage. The movie was Saath Saath and it dealt with how the guy from a middle class background who enjoyed the simple things in life turn into this high powered businessman for whom time was money. This was the kind of people he abhorred in the beginning. The girl is from a rich household, pampered and molly-coddled and when she marries him she has to make a lot of compromises and learn to live a simple life and she starts enjoying the joys in this life. How they both realize where they erred and correct it before it becomes too late is the rest of the story. For some reason the concept of the current track reminded me of this...

Now coming back to Nidhi, now that she has tasted initial success, and seen AShu's increasing love and respect for her as a woman as a result of this she has become greedy for more. It has become a fever in her system and now it has to run its course. When this fever dies down we will see the outcome, but till then we will just have to wait it out and see where this course takes them.

@aardhan

True, Aarthi...it is going to be an interesting journey..and a very real one...this is a test that all couples have to face...

Their age-gap and Ashu's past will exacerbate the situation...create more scope for conflict...

A fever is normally a symptom of an infection within...so will the infection be cured or will it consume...we need to wait and see what happens...

It is by far the most interesting track on the show..if it plays out this way!

That is my point too...but how they negotiate this change is what determines the success of a relationship..for some, it can be easy while others may fail the test...

for Ashutosh and Nidhi, this is going to be a test of fire!

Exactly my point too, Anu...

What turn their story takes and whether Ashutosh and Nidhi manage to retain their love is in the hands of the makers...

WOW Aarti.
What an excellent analysis of Nidhi, and the current tracks reasons.
Now it does not seem so depressing.
I just hope that KPji can read this comment of yours and try to
follow up and make the track a positive one.
I have seen that Movie,
Farooq Sheikh and Deepti naval were outstanding.
If we get to see something like this I will take back every nasty thing I have ever said about KPji.đŸ˜†
