So friends here I am once again to bore u all with some bright and some not-so-bright ideas and opinions on the current track...

From the time KTLK started it has been about a couple who are as different from each other as chalk and cheese (a bit of an exaggeration but i hope u all get what I am trying to say)...Ashni's age difference which initially had no impact on their being happy together is now rearing its ugly head as can be seen from the baby and profession track...So here's what I think about it...

Ashu and Nidhi met, fell in love, had differences, sorted them out, separated (because of age and Mallu), then finally got together again and made a fresh start claiming to love and cherish each other and be happy ever after...A typical filmy plot when we read and watch it...

But friends life is not always that simple or straightforward...More so love and marriage is not always a bed of roses...Neither is it a one way street...there has to be give and take in any relationship to make it succeed...

In KTLK of late most of the giving is being done by Ashu... Where on the one hand Nidhi has become more and more devoted to her career, Ashu has become obsessed with parenthood and is letting Khushi become an integral part of his life...I don't say Nidhi does not love him...she loves him a lot...She even got Khushi back for him...But does she understand him? Does she try and figure out why he is getting so attached to Khushi? She asked him for two years and he gave it to her unconditionally. But recent developments are showing that Ashu is actually missing the presence of a child...

The question which arises here is who is right and who is wrong??? Ashu for wanting a child...someone whom he could call his own and who will make up for all that he missed in his childhood? Or Nidhi who wants to first make her career...Who likes kids but is not yet ready to become a parent...This is actually where the age-gap comes glaring out at them and at the viewers...It is a very interesting track and if handled properly can actually be a great watch...

Just hope KP and team handle the track intelligently and 'maturely'...Just one final observation...Cant we get a different Khushi? Not that I have anything against this kid but I am sure the PH could have got someone more lovable than the present child artist. Now that this Khushi track seems to be a prolongued one they should think about getting a cuter one...One whom the viewers could also relate to...

Sorry if I have tread on any toes and I did not intend to bash any actor...Just expressing my opinion...Please share ur views on this also...Looking forward to see how the track goes on from here...

Adios amigos...Till the next post...

Good post Mehek,but here we always had diff pov from diff people.Ysterday i saw khushi aka Pragna,she and her speech is adorable.and here she is with drasty speech.And account of Ashni they both are right with their pov,but sometime feel that Nidhi is much practical and Ashu is more emotional.May be bec of their diff circumstances.I like khushi but against kp ji who gave khushi this undigestable dialogues to deliver

A very good post, Mehak...

How long can you go on defending...a very good question...I don't think even the CVs have answers to this question...

In fact, at least KPji has had to face a lot of tough questions on Nidhi's stance...he is unable to give a solid, acceptable answer...no wonder then that he finally had to deflect the responsibility to the actor...what the truth is, none of us really know...but they are definitely making noodle khichdi of the show...😆

good post Mehak...
as the production house has introduced the baby track it should culminate into ASHNI'S own baby only. Ashu with his background is quite normal in desiring a child of his own , Nidhi too is right in wanting carrier first. A mature story line should have a mature solution only. Adoption can not be a substitute . Here surrogacy can never be an option untill and unless Nidhi is having hypo plastic /absent uterus with normal ovulating ovaries.
If story demands a baby track an actor can not refuse it. That too in a serial like KTLK and with an actress as professional as KK. If she is refusing then a q comes to my mind whether she wants a movie bec of her looks or bec of her acting skills and professionalism.
Big Q is whether we should sacrify story or change the actress?
can we convince the actress?

@ vidyasabde...

Vidya u have put into words what I hesitated to put in my post for fear that it would be taken as bashing...And there have been a number of shows where the lead has been changed if he/she is not ready to portray a mature grown-up personality/parent...

As KTLK is about a couple with a substantial age gap parenting does tend to become a cause of differences arising between their reasoning..

Both Ashu and Nidhi are correct in their reasoning...given their ages...but this should have been one question both should have anticipated when or after they fell in love and decided to get married...

There is no one 'right'solution to this problem...Either way one will have to give in...But as Alka has stated in her post Ashu is more emotional and Nidhi is the practical one...So either Nidhi should consider Ashu's emotions and give him/his desire to have a child priority...in which case her career will have to be put on hold...
But whatever they decide they should talk it out...Nidhi knows what Ashu feels about children but she does not want to talk about it with him...Maybe she is scared that if she talks this over and sees how he feels about the issue she will feel compelled to relent...As for Ashu he has agreed to give Nidhi the two years and feels it would be unfair to take that time away from her...So he is drawn more and more towards Khushi...

In this case what could happen in the future is that Ashu will become very attached to Khushi and may even succeed in adopting her...Then when Ashni have their own child Nidhi may begin to resent the love Ashu showers on Khushi...Have to wait and see if such a thing does happen...Although to me it would be a logical and interesting track to capitalise on...

@Dr Vidya

in answer to your question. a show is more important than any actor...that goes without saying...if the makers feel compromised in their story telling, they need to talk to the actor...and use every means within their power to convince her...if despite this the actor does not relent, and the show has the backing of the channel, then the makers will have to take the tough call...

It has happened before and it will happen again...I have been witness to another show suffering pretty much the same fate...a pregnancy was allowed to last for close to two years with the character sporting a flat midriff...this was reportedly because the actress refused to sport a baby bump...and then, they showed her miscarrying...the show faded slowly into oblivion thereafter...this is history

Do we want a promising show to rot because a team is unable to tell the story that they want to...because they do not have their actor's co-operation...I would say NO for sure...

@Mehek

with regard to adoption, that is only a solution to the actor issue...it is not a requirement of the story,...and the conflict scenario will never come up...we have been categorically told that AshNi will never have a child on the show...so unless there is a change there, pursuing that line of thought is of no use
