Dr.Ranganath's happiness knew no bounds when he first heard the news about his marriage with Anji.. Started dreaming about Anji, Sangeet ka dance with Anji, saath phere with Anji and finally honeymoon with Anji...
While his & her parents seem to take care of every other dream except for the last one, he started preparations on his own... searched websites, logged into several places to get best honeymoon packages all over the world... Pronto, he got a promotional mail from 'Thaen Nilavu packages' (honey & moon in Tamil)... for a 3 -day honeymoon trip in Srilanka at unbelievable rates...
They have also agreed to take each and every care for the success of their honeymoon... There was an attached itinerary too.. but Ranga dint open in his excitement.
With this Ranganath was over the moon of honey and started dreaming now about his trip ... Finally, the day was here...
Day 1:
RAnji arrived at Jaffna Airport... two hefty personalities in black suits were standing holding the placards of Mrs & Mr Ranga's names...They introduced themselves from the honeymoon package tours... and they are allotted duty for RAnji's protection from terrorists.
Men-in-Black (MIB): show us your identifications..
RAnji showed passports...hand in hand...
MIB: You need to be checked individually...
reluctantly, Ranga removed his hand from Anji's.. they were checked thoroughly and nearly everything on the person...were lead towards a special entrance and a van with closed windows of dark glass and iron clasts...
RAnji: what is this?
MIB: Protection...(Sitting between RAnji)... Driver, take us to 'X'
Ranga: where are you taking us?
MIB: Protection
Car reached to the destination...
MIB: Follow us to your room...one walking in the front and one at the back.
Ranga: Thank you very much.. we will call you when we go out...
MIB: You are not going anywhere... terrorists outside... we will sit inside your room..we are for your protection...
RAnji ended up in sleeping on two separate beds with both men sitting just opposite to their beds...
Day 2: In the Pinnawela Elephant Sanctuary ...
Anji: Thank God! what a relief!! we have come out that high security zone...we can enjoy our honeymoon now...
Their room was booked in the guest house with open windows...over seeing the herd of elephants doing their daily routines...
@ night... Ranga tried to close-in on Anji... Suddenly, Anji pushed him away... She found the shape strangely very familiar..standing outside the window and looking at them as if grumbling at the sight of Ranga flirting with his daughter...
RAnji slept on separate beds...
Day 3: Abhayagiri vihara -- Buddhist temple
RAnji spent their day in learning about the monastery, the buddhist philosophy, how to achieve monkhood, the ideal characteristics of a sanyas, the eternal pleasure in sacrificing all earthly relationships...
Reached back India...
Bauji: Guddu, Bahu.. kaisi rahi.. pooja ka seminar
RAnji: "Buddham Sharanam Gachhami"... "Sangham Sharanam Gachhami"...
Bauji: ( wiping his tears) Hamari bahu heera hai.. kitna puja paath karti hai...
