is ashu's demand/wish invalid?

I think like kaks said.. It abt understanding each others view on career v/s wanna be parents... Currently nidhi is serious abt her medical job...

In this issue I am slightly inclined to support Ashu as he is right about his age. and 24/25 is not too young to have a baby.

Ashu is perfectly justified in his desire..

Unfortunately for them, the age gap and the circumstances are the stumbling block...if Nidhi had completed her internship along with the others, then there wouldn't be so much of an issue...but both Nidhi and Ashutosh are to blame for that...if Ashutosh was unprofessional and stupid to throw Nidhi out when he did, she was equally stupid and immature in not pursuing her internship anywhere else thereafter...

Now, the issue is time...it must be said that while you can continue your education at any age, you cannot have a baby at any age...while it might be biologically possible, given the advancement is science, having a baby is not only about biology...you need to be mentally and physically capable of child rearing...the fact of the matter is Ashutosh does not have time on his side...

Nidhi must complete her internship...no two ways about that...thereafter, I think having a family should be a priority...resuming her education after a break of a year or so in not a big deal...there are enough women before her who have done it and there will be more to come...and I am talking of doctors here whom I personally know...so, if I were in Nidhi's place, I would definitely make my husband understand that while I shared his desire for a child, I just needed time to complete my internship before we had our child...! Given that she will complete it in just a few months, am sure Ashutosh will have no issues with that either!

agree with you Sujatha.. but could it have been a simple case of miscommunication? Ashu might be thinking Nidhi wants to wait and have a child until she is completely settled in her profession (another 5yrs or so) and he would be end of 40s then...while Nidhi might be assuming Ashu wants a child RIGHT NOW...may be all they need is tell each other these things clearly..Ashu waiting for a few more months is ok and Nidhi taking a break after internship to have a baby would also be ok..

Could well be...most of husband-wife issues start with miscommunication...but have a feeling Nidhi will be on a high and go on about how the senior doctor praised her and urged her to do her MD and specialization and all that...and Ashutosh will see his baby dreams going up in smoke...hence the anger!

He would try to pitch for mid ground for sure...he would urge AShu to understand Nidhi's ambitions and Nidhi to understand Ashu's desires!

i dont think he is wrong .. but i think he needs to give sometime to his marriage ... atleast 6 months !
