Suja, I am all for strong women...but does their strength have to come at the expense of a man...in a love story, it is crucial to be able to connect to both lead characters..how do you fall in love with a man who stands ( in this case sits) by and watches as two women fight over him like dogs over a bone? Does the man in question feel good about being objectified thus? Why is it that dignified, educated women are always reduced to playing dirty games over a man? Whose ego does this really satisfy? Given that the audience is primarily female, do women then enjoy watching their counterparts on screen fight over men this way? I really don't know but increasingly feel that I should give up watching soaps altogether.

Sujatha, i am all for strong women myself...i was personally never the rona dhona type and could never connect with anyone who was emotionally so fragile. but never believed in the concept that "to show a woman as strong we need to show the man as weak and dumb". we can already see that it is satisfying the ego of KPji and RS and the CV team. as to the viewers, there is no denying that there are quite a few women out there who enjoy one female upping the other over a man. Man is a possession. "he is mine" is given a whole new meaning in their minds. and these days, i am finding my share of entertainment and enjoyment in my writings and in these discussions.

Yes of course, there are a lot of women like that...but one hoped that Indian TV soaps would offer something for those women who are not like that too...that is what these guys promise everytime they tout their shows as hatke...everytime we fall into their trap...and everytime they never fail to disappoint...!

Time for a break, I think. I just gave up sometime ago on another show which was also touted as a mature love story. I think I should stay from anything that is labelled as mature hereafter!

Sujatha.. you ahve started late unfortunately... not that it was great before... but to some extent ok till first few episodes...

I read somewhere the production team expressing despair over the lead's temporary physical disability and I find that an ugliest & the most lame excuse to make the hero spineless and a dumb, deaf and a blind audience to the cat fight.

This same show in the first few episodes cleverly used the lead's disability to move .. Ashutosh was bedridden with a fracture...and that entire period was used to instigate the lovely feelings..( I still love the way Nidhi blasted him for his wreckless driving) Ashutosh was friendly with Mallika at the same time stopped her at delving into the bindi-on-the-mirror issue... Ashutosh enjoyed all little acts of nidhi...

Now, very few AshNi scenes and they are abruptly cut or overshadowed by Mallika...As far as mallika is concerned, Ashutosh has no say... agree she is a patient...but still...sigh!!! The complexity of Ashutosh's character is no where to be seen now...

Sometimes I really wonder is it the same team writing the scenes who had shot before or the pale ghosts of the past.

yeah, i guess we form a minor percentage or these guys are so used to catering to the majority that they CAN'T sustain in our path for long and go running back to the same old track...

Mudra...I did catch some of the earlier episodes on yt...and it is true that the writing was nuanced and layered earlier...at least to a degree...now all the characters are reduced to caricatures...Ashutosh is today nothing like the man he was...a very, very pale shadow...and yes, it is incredibly stupid to blame this crap on the lead actor's incapacitation...if anything, it is their own lack of creativity and out of the box thinking that has to be blamed...sorry but they are as spineless as the characters that they create!
