If this is the case, then this audience was never the saas-bahu viewing type...and the present track is dangerously close to that...but it had not yielded any increment in terms of TRPs...the original viewers, although never keen on this kind of kitchen drama, have stuck on out of love for the show...so can we then call this track a failed experiment to attract the family audience?
It is actually a very interesting track...the conflcit and moral dilemmas that arise when your marriage is pitted against your friendship...a track that could have been handled a lot more maturely and yet conveyed the same message ( that is if they are actually trying to convey something)...in the process of trying to stand up for a friendship, should Dr Ashutosh be shown as a somewhat incompetent medical professional who does not even have the foresight to take expert opinion...and whose professional judgment is clouded to such an extent that he is unable to see that Mallika, ill or otherwise, is manipulating the situation...it is not as if he is unaware of their shared history..!
