Fun Post: Cost Control measures by PH

All the members of Production House are informed on the cost – Cutting policies adopted by the company here. This note applies to the employees who are working on Project- KTLK more.

Based on the project financial status at the end of NOV 2011, the organization has understood that this project could not earn the revenue as per plan so certain immediate steps are taken.

1. Increase the billing time : We started telecasting the show for 45 minutes instead of 30 minutes

2. Reduce head count : Reduced unnecessary track of Chote Sarkar

Unfortunately we are still not at comfortable situation so additional measures are taken.

1. Increase the productivity: Majority scenes will be shot in close-ups. This applies more to the highest paid (Dr. Handsome Ji)

2. Reduce the working days: Applies to the highest paid Dr. Handsome Ji : He has to be absent in at least one episode per week. More the merrier

3. Staffing Matrix: Increase the time of low-billing resources: More screen space for small and ancillary characters. Eg: Mansukhani and Sue

4. Reduce Costly operations: Read as No more hospital romance. It requires wards, beds, more extra artistes etc. So we will be avoiding it completely. All the characters will do WFH (Working from Home)

5. Increase usability: We need to use the resources better. When depicting anger, no more Thod-Fod. Actors cannot break glasses, cannot destruct curtains etc. They can show their anger by throwing softer objects like Jackets….

6. Re-usability: Due to cost cutting in all the departments, we have reduced no of CVs also. So we need to re-use the components (Concepts). We will show Chai scene, raja-titili scene etc in different contexts with different actors.

7. Travel Restrictions: All the actors have to work from their base locations only. They have to avoid travelling to different location to shoot combined shots.

8. Communication: The communication has to be on paper. Avoid Mobiles as much as possible. Only business related characters can do phone convs. Eg: Lawyers, bankers etc Phone conversations between lovers are strictly prohibited because they have a tendency to speak long and increase the phone bill.

Because of the open culture we have in the company, we request our employees (Forum Members) also to contribute any other good measures we can adopt to bring this project on track.
