Writer Kamlesh Pandey has taken a two-decade-old landmark show Dhoop Kinare and has Indianised and rechristened it as Kuch Toh Log Kahenge for Sony Entertainment Television.
Essentially, a love story between doctors Zoya and Ahmer Ansari, the Indian version will feature Mohnish Behl as the male lead. The two people who eventually fall in love are a generation apart. Thirty-eight-year-old surgeon Ashutosh (Behl) runs the Dr. Kotnis General Hospital on the outskirts of Bhopal. He is a strict disciplinarian and has an unforgiving attitude to lapses in the same. Twenty-four-year-old Nidhi Verma (Kritika Kamra) on the other hand, is carefree and jovial.
Age comes in the way of expressing their love for one another. "Ashutosh is a middle-aged man, so it's difficult for him to even realise his love for a girl almost half his age. Then there's the pressures of dealing with society's barbs and the turmoil of trying to live up to her expectations."
The show's promotional video even gives you a taste of what to expect. The music, background score and the approach towards the title track brings the delicate romance between the couple to the fore.
