I think it’s good it was made so big. At least the writers know that Erica/Shaheer fans are not happy with the way the show is going and they will not accept any other person as their FL/ML.

It can also be that she wanted to leave but ultimately had some negotiation with the PH. She herself neither accepted nor denied the news. So we would never know.
