I don’t see much range in this serial by supriya pilgoenkar. It’s same acting nothing more. 🙁👎

We already saw dev’s pain pre and post marriage and how he overcame those issues and became a stronger person with the help of love in the form of sonakshi in s1 and s2. This season should have been about sonakshi’s struggle being in an emotionally draining relationship and compromising in her marriage. Instead how they turn everything being about dev’s struggle is something I haven’t been able to comprehend and the majority of the audience seems to buy it too.

This season seems to be the product of a half-cooked, half-thought recipe for disaster. The only redeeming factor left in the show is the brilliant acting. So kudos to the actors for that.

Bold part:-That has been my biggest grouse against the makers not just in this season but all the three seasons. Sona's issues & struggles have never been given importance or addressed in the show. She had an equally (if not more) difficult past during the 7 year separation as Ishwari did but it has been glossed over & never glorified like how Ishwari & Dev's past has been. But however much the makers/ writers try to glorify the mother & son, they can never be called strong or inspirational people. It is Sonakshi who has been associated with being a strong character. She does have flaws like every human being do but her good points outweigh them whereas in the case of both mother & son, it is the opposite.

I guess it is too much to expect the makers to give a balanced story from the point of view of both the male & female leads when they thanked only the male lead when the previous season ended. Neither the female lead nor the third lead & not even the cast & crew were extended the same courtesy.😓

I am actually quite surprised as to what made the makers do a rehash of the same plot as that of the first season. We have already seen Ishwari's insecurities & abnormal, obsessive & toxic love towards her son (& vice versa) & how it created difficulties & misunderstanding between Dev & Sona. So why repeat the same thing when the audience had never been keen or interested in watching Ishwari's manipulative & controlling ways in season 1? This season should have been solely about the married couple Devakshi working as a team & dealing on their own, all the problems they are facing without any active interference from Ishwari.

Exactly this ! The glorification of mother-Son duo and their struggles is nauseating at best . I mean Sona raised her daughter all alone for seven years with no financial support while her parents were penniless thanks to her worthless husband . She still did not make her daughter bitter towards her father . Soha had a happy childhood . Ishwari raised 4 kids are mentally disturbed and emotionally unstable.

Dev's unhappiness is his own responsibility. He chooses to shut himself from his wife and mom both and looks for quick fix. No one has asked him to meddle in issues between his mom and wife . Let them deal with it on their own

After all these good qualities of sona, dev n esh mahan. What sona doing is wrong. She is not suppose to nag like that.

My question is when end of track favours dev n esh, what is the need to show sona very good n she feels bad n all. Show her kadoos n torturing wife. And let us also enjoy this end result sona understanding n adjusting. To make #alagche they are showing #kuchbee 😔

I think the issue with this is that without active interference from Ishwari, they don't really have problems. They're very much in love, they're on the same page when it comes to the kids and everything else, they have similar thoughts and ideologies in life. The actual crux of the story is Dev's weird obsession with his mother and his tendency to look for quick fixes because he's unable to confront larger issues since all of them involve her. By themselves, Devakshi is pretty chill in my opinion

I believe the makers in their quest to break the norms of ITV which is generally based on the fl’s perspective wanted to give a story that’s solely based on the ml’s perspective. Every show gives us how much the fl is the penultimate symbol of sacrifice, so let’s make sure the hero gets it this time. I’m not even mad that the ma-beta duo get glorified all the time, my issue has been with the maker’s absolute failure to even consider the fl’s struggle or even accept that she has been a victim of the ma-beta claustrophobic relationship. It’s like just because sonakshi had a support system in the form of her family, all her struggles have been invalidated. They didn’t bother to give us a single episode of how they managed or even ended up in Calcutta after they were ousted from their house in the middle of the night, not one episode. Yet ishwari’s flashbacks keep hitting you every now and then.

bold - I generally don’t care for the offscreen dynamics, but in this case the makers’ bias towards the ml and in extension the ml’s relationship with the third lead does seem to affect the onscreen story too. Just my personal opinion.

As far as this season is concerned, I guess either the channel or the makers wanted to cash in on the popularity of this show. They just failed to realize that this show really had set a benchmark in ITV after a very long time. It was a breath of fresh air amongst all the high voltage dramas, be it the story or the acting or the original music score. If they wanted to enjoy the same love and appreciation from the audience, they needed to have put in a lot more effort than this.

Kadoos and torturing sonakshi would have been bearable to watch than this “I should be more adjusting/understanding for everything” sonakshi honestly. Also can you even imagine the kind of hate sonakshi would receive if they showed her kadoos or torturing wife? Already people bash her for being insensitive towards dev’s feelings. Also there would have been hashtags demanding new fl for the ml. They needed to show a strong fl who is worthy of their ml, someone who can heal him but also not too strong enough so that she doesn’t cross the ITV standards of aagyakari bahu.

Agree that left to themselves, without any active interference from Ishwari, Devakshi are reasonably sorted. But then, the makers should have ended their story in season 1 itself. Though there was no real redemption for Dev & Ishwari and too many loopholes in the story, Devakshi had settled down to a healthy domestic bliss with Ishwari looking on & supporting them fondly.

Season 2 is not worth mentioning because 80 to 90 % of the time it had the actors speaking to the walls & doors and body doubles. Even the romantic scenes except for the 1st two episodes were with body doubles. And then there was the glorification of the male lead sacrificing his professional life ( apparently for a few months) to look after their new born child so that his wife could concentrate on her career. Could never understand why the makers couldn't show them jointly shouldering their responsibilities & duties when they had a good support system at home in the form of Ishwari, mamaji, GKB & even Elena. In addition, they could hired some help to look after Shubh.

Ideally this season, they should have come up with a completely new story with the same reel names & same actors but different characterization if their main intention was to cash in the popularity of Devakshi/ Sharica instead of spoiling the beautiful, sweet memorieswe all had of season 1 especially when the original writers were unavailable to write this season. However, once they decided to continue with the story from the previous seasons, there were still so many issues or plots they could have come up with, which didn't involve the active participation ( read interference / manipulation) of Ishwari in their private matters.

The sole purpose of s2 was to glorify the ml. If it was actually about how men could also contribute to women empowerment and be involved in their personal life and kids’ life, then how was it that they never showed Vicky’s side of contributions or for that matter only showed saurabh cribbing over his lack of sleep most of the time. Also the fl who managed to raise a happy confident daughter alone for 7 years in addition to building a very successful business somehow wasn’t able to manage the family with so many to help her around, matlab kuch bhi…
