Very well written post and cant agree more with you. Just now me and @Itelidevera(Lakshmi) were discussing same in the analysis thread. I am copy-pasting the same thoughts here.

Regarding Sona's behavior, I feel in the process of making her mahaan, they actually turned her in to a mystery. At present, Every one has their own version of Sona in their mind because no one knows what exactly she feels or wants. When the show started, Dev was like a puzzle and sona was like an open book. Now its a role reversal. Whether its good or bad, we know what dev thinks but when it comes to Sona everything is left to viewers imagination. There are no open discussions, no monologues, no introspection, nothing. How can a viewer understand or connect with this character now?

You are absolutely right. As viewers we feel the myriad of emotions felt by Dev.This is one reason why everyone is always fascinated with Dev's character,be it positive or negative. But Sonakshi has become so one dimensional that as a viewer I have become disinterested in her character as an individual. Off late she seems to possess just one shade and that is being Ms Perfect to the Imperfect Dev.

While it is true that women are emotionally stronger than men it doesn't mean they are not vulnerable. We all have our limitations, that's what makes us imperfect and imperfect is the new perfect. Even superheroes have weaknesses. To the creators, please hit the brake on the Wonder Woman track.

Exactly. Even when the show started, Sona was an extremely strong character. Yet she was sensitive and emotional. I dont know what gave the writers this idea that being strong equates to being perfect and unemotional. In the quest of making her a mahaan female lead, the writers have made her stoic and robotic cos no one knows whats going on in her head.

Bang on. Even maahan leads like Gopi and Ishita have their own thought process and monologues. Poor Sona has none 😆

Yeah. But Ishita is an Ekta heroine and Ekta always favors her female leads. But here Dev is favored in every aspect be it story, costume or makeup.in terms of female lead Ishwari takes away the bunch of the privileges sona is always secondary.
U can tweet mamta. Atleast she will know some people are seeing thru the farce. I actually feel bad when they claim their show as progressive, by duping us by showing pseudo progressive tracks which I'm has always had a regressive handling.

I dont know. Dev is favored the most and also butchered the most. Sona's emotions are not focussed upon and they ruin her by making her emotionless in their quest to make her a mahaan bahu 😆

Right now the way the story & the characters are progressing unless something drastic happens I do not see Sonakshi showing her emotions any time soon, when she can get over so quickly over the fact that she could have been assaulted or for that matter does not show any emotion when her office is on fire I do not see why or how she will show any emotions. Even when she proposed Dev it was not until she was pushed to the corner and expressed it only when the realisation hit that Dev was going far away. So unless there is a situation where she realises that she could loose her dear ones she is not going to get affected by any situation, guess the seven years have taught her a lot.
But one thing I would want an improvement upon are the dialogs that are given to Sonakshi by the CVs, after the leap some of her dialogs have been horrendous.

Again just my POV, no offence.

@ astrix you have hit the nail on the head (nowadays all your posts are very thought provoking!).

Sona has now become a character who is now criticized the most on the forum.

I think most people who like dev do so because his struggles are out there for all to see. Sona who preleap had wonderful dialogues also came across as a warm & sensitive person. Now she comes across as a zombie spouting weird dialogues & shown as having no time for husband or daughter!

I try to understand her coping mechanism regarding the goon attack but beyond that she seems a total mystery. I really want the cvs to focus at least once on her instead of dev & ish. We need to know how she managed in the past 7 years.

I am hoping that cvs show her struggles for a change instead of focusing on the dixit duo. As a viewer I felt a lot of the major tracks focused on them. At least during the infertility track we got to see some of sonas pain!

Thank you :) Well at this point I don't even care if they don't show her struggles in detail. I will be grateful if they show at least one scene where she is expressive and we are given an opportunity to understand what goes on in her head 😆 Even in the infertility track, it was more about Ishwari not having a pota or poti rather than Dev Sona not having kids. The CVs have a knack of ruining all the important tracks 😆
