Each individual have their own coping mechanisms, resilience factors, personal strength, protective factors, community and family supports, which helps them to deal with such incidents. Whereas, a person who have history of trauma and have developed a maladaptive coping strategies, might deal with their feelings about such incidents differently.

Its quite clear that such incident would shook any strong and resilient person, no doubt. Maybe, makers are trying to show that Sona's emotions took back seat when she saw Dev's reaction to the incident. Dev, who have experienced childhood trauma and whose life is still in many ways dictated by his trauma, was affected more than Sona. I hope that's what they are trying to show.

Sona's metaphor about rain and umbrella' is quite relevant to many incidents, as we can't let one incident dictate our life. At the same time, in the world where there is a high rate of rape and physical assault very much prevalent, one can't be too cautious. I just hope makers would give nice social message, instead of using that incident as a prop to change dynamic between DevAkshi.

Just my POV, I do not intend to hurt anyone.

U may b rite. But this is a classic case of makers again ignoringg sonakshi's emotions.
Her emotional arc is never shown. Had it been ish in that position the screenplay would have been totally different.

If sonakshi was so strong she would not got into the bus in the first place when she already knew Dev is on the way. They just want to tone down the scene and make it one sided only from Dev's angle. Being strong does not mean not breaking down it means picking up even after breaking down.

The movie pink has some strong woman, they do crumble but pick themselves up, that's real strength. Sonakshi is just a caricature. She is not real.

Seriously it's not even entertaining watching her scenes.

Makers never gave importance to sonakshi's feeling or Sonakshi side story. Be it infertility track... They are biased towards eshwari. Haven't we witnessed how eshwari emotions given priority. This is where injustice to so hard working Erica. I am not saying don't show eshwari emotions. But atleast give same priority to Sonakshi character as well.

After what happened to Sonakshi , how could she act so brave the next moment...as if she can let it go by so easily...next day morning she behaves as if she has gotten over it...for a woman who was shown so scared to wait in a locked car...for a woman who got so scared in the bus...and when she was saved by her husband...that fear just vanished so quickly...??

Even the strongest of women collapse miserable when faced with a situation like this...I felt a disconnect here...with logic and story line...

Then if this is to bring in the possessive track and to bring in challenges in Dev Sonakshi's life thru Vicky...I don't think the sexual abuse scare track was required...Dev is always known to be possessive...what is the new rang in it...we have seen how he had gone to her house to know who Neil was ...we have seen how he Behaved with Ritwick and Jatan...from Day 1 he has been very possessive...

well logic fails again...but yeah who cares abt logic ...this is fiction...but seriously ladies...tell me is it easy to forget an incident like the one she faced ...can be forgotten and overcome so easily ??

Very valid point 👏
Completely agree with u...
She seemed very cool..that is not possible
I don't find anything wrong in dev being over protective and possessive abt her...as u said from day 1 he has been like this ..the dialogie I liked is "I need u for myself" I don't find any control here I see it the love and care he has for her

My feel, since she saw Dev was more scared than her, to boost Dev she his showing herself brave. It happens sometimes that women show bravery but inside they feel scared. These happens between husband and wife normally. If both are showing there bravery, egoism errupts. If both are showing weakness how can they move forward. She is showing here bravery so that she should not make Dev weak and be dipped in the situation always.

Very nice Post Aswathy..I kind of agree and disagree with you...Some women take these kind of incidents too hard and take time to recover from it..Others don't get so affected by it..
Sonakshi has been born and brought up in Delhi..One of the most unsafe places in India.she must have handled this all through her growing years..She has also been working and independent for the last 7 years...She has not had the luxury of being able to take time to get over bad phases. These kind of experiences make women strong..Teaches them to be up on their feet very quickly.

And another thing that matters is the age at which you experience this incident...She is over 30 now and has the maturity to see things for what they are,be calm and move on.As for the coffee,I believe she asked for it in order to compose herself...

Stating from my own experience, haven't experienced anything this bad..but have had a couple of real bad experiences...Was followed by two men on a lonely road at around 8:00 pm for around 15 minutes(when i was just 19)...passing lewd comments and gestures...Anything could have happened I guess...It scared the hell out of me..but I learnt my lesson,I just avoided that road and took a different route next time..But I did go to college the next day without any escort..In fact,I didn't even narrate this incident to anyone at home for another 15-20 days because I was afraid that it would scare them...

Forget all this...At this point I can only think of the Calcutta rape victim(a few years back). The lady went back to work just a few days after a brutal rape ...btw,she was a single mother...Atta girl..Hats off to her...So yeah, people react differently depending on what they have been through..Strictly my opinion.

That said,I agree that the makers put in this incident purely for TRP purposes..I mean the idea of bringing that uncanny resemblance to the Nirbhaya case didn't go down too well with me.

Reading about Delhi case gave chills to most women in India and this scene was so much similar but Sonakshi was very normal the next minute . Atleast she won't be asking to drink coffee in the middle of the night after such incidents .She would prefer to go home and stay safe but our heroine doesn't seem to be effected at all .

I am disappointed with the way they dealt this track . Sonakshi is not effected by this incident is hard to digest.

Women in this forum were scared to even think of the possibility after reading the spoiler and many had no plans to watch on screen but a women who went through this was not effected at all.Big joke

u r absolutely right. i skipped the last part of mondays episode and the first part of yest episode.
sona being as if nothing happened is too not real

How we handle such situations is subjective. I was barely 18 when my cousin misbehaved with me during a drive to his home . I was mentally strong enough to defend myself ,I threatened him that I will jump from the car if he continue his misdeed and I would have done that if he didn't stop touching me . It was traumatic , I was scared inside, but I knew that I cannot show it to him . I accompanied him to take part in the naming ceremony of his baby .My parents permitted me to go with him even at night as he was a close relative.
The experience was literally awful, mainly because he was like my brother , these is least expected behavior from our own relative .But by the time I reach his home , I made up my mind . I decided to behave nonchalantly to his wife and mother until the function is over , otherwise it will be a family drama in the presence of all invited guest there . All I am saying is we can behave in a relaxed manner if we decide to do so . It is not necessary that all women would freak out after such situation.
