Dear All,

I have been thinking about making this post for quite some time, but just have not found the time. I sincerely apologize for the delay! My topic today is about Ishwari re-joining her job. While going through the forum, I have found many differing opinions about whether or not Ishwari should go back to work. I am going to state my personal experiences first and then state my opinion.

When my mother-in-law was in her younger days, she studied up until getting her PhD in mechanical engineering. After getting her degree, she worked for about 3-4 years, until getting pregnant with my brother-in-law, which was her first child. Because she wanted to give my brother the best upbringing possible, she and my father-in-law decided that it would be best if my mother-in-law would stop working in order to take care of her child. They decided that she could go back to work after my brother-in-law was ready to go to school. Eventually, she had 4 other children, which also shut that possibility. By the time all of her children were grown up, it had been 25-30 years since she had been in the industry. She finally decided to go back to work, because she was becoming bored after some time. Moreover, she wanted to gain an identity for herself, instead of being "Mrs. So and So or "_______'s wife or "_______'s mother. She first looked through some jobs in her field, but was facing rejection everywhere. She finally almost decided to give up, but one of her relatives talked her into continuing looking for a job. Then, she finally decided to apply to a job at a primary school. At first, she was finding everything difficult. However, most difficult for her was the fact that her children did not want her to work because they wanted her to relax when she could. However, she wanted to utilize her time to help others, which gave her a lot of satisfaction. Finally, after some coaxing from me and her other daughter-in-laws and son-in-laws, everyone agreed. My mother-in-law is still working and is enjoying her job immensely.

I would like to stress the point that Ishwari is definitely not working for any sort of monetary compensation. She has a son and a daughter-in-law, who are businesspeople whom are very well capable of earning a lot of money. She is working in order to satisfy her need of doing something for herself, by herself. And I can totally understand Dev's dilemma. He is worried about her and does not want her to even lift a feather. After all, Ishwari is the person he has worked for. Finally, I love what Sonakshi did. She left the matter to the two of them and showed her FAITH in Dev. She trusted that he would not do anything to hurt Ishwari. This is the mindset that I adopted in my case, but I cannot say the same for others in my family. I tried to be the bridge between my mother-in-law and my husband, but many are not able to do that.

I guess my main point here is that Ishwari is working for personal satisfaction. Thank you all for reading!

Best,

Roshni

KRPKAB is giving positive social message to all. After watching this any woman who wants to work but is tied by hesitancy would atleast give it a try and succeed :)

They are giving out a nice message. It's very natural for Dev to not like Ishwari working at this age but he's eventually come around. It shows that it's never too late to learn anything in life

It was very thoughtful of the makers to show Ishwari trying to build her own identity, without any help from her dear son.
And this lead to her getting to know Lakshya without being biased.
This is like ek teer se do nishane by the makers! 👍🏼👏
