The child is both from father and mother. If Dev needed to be with Sonakshi during this time then it was Sonakshi's responsibility to share the news and experience with him. Through those emails and by visiting Kolkata Dev is experiencing Sonakshi's pain and suffering. By Suhana asking Sonakshi regarding Dev's visit to hospital, they are bringing forth both Suhana and Dev's pain. As much as Dev is answerable, Sonakshi is too for the separation.
Sonakshi should have informed Dev about Suhana. No, I am not including that she came to IN and Ishwari sent her back because that was 6 months after Suhana was born. Sonakshi should have informed Dev about pregnancy itself. She who knew how much he wanted a daughter and that being his dream had to tell him. She is now answerable to Suhana too as to why he was not in her life for 7 years.
Dev is a person who only shares happiness not pain. He is a guy who takes everyone's pain and gives only happiness in return. But it doesn't mean that he doesn't experience pain or his pain is any less or that he deserves it. He is someone same like Sonakshi or Bijoy and has the right to happiness as much as them. Similarly Sonakshi should also know the upheavals that iare caused by her decision to stay quiet and hide her true feelings. The miscommunication during marriage was not just from Dev's side, but also Sonakshi and she has to face the past just like Dev. As much as Dev was supposed to support her, she was supposed to do the same. Since Dev will not disclose any of his pain to Sonakshi and if he did will underplay it, Suhana is made to question Sonakshi for her to realize Dev's pain and suffering.
