I think it's just to show in this case Dev how it feels to do something special for your loved one & then not getting appreciation for it. Here his daughter did it in innocence, she's a child after all. Dev was an adult when Sona had planned his bday. He didn't even call her or wait for her to cut cake. He might not connect the two episodes though but hopefully he does & remembers all the times he's disappointed for the sake of ish!

I agree with you completely on this and I am glad you made a post abt this...he is doing everything to catch with those 6 yrs and know his daughter...
His efforts to cook non veg was not to prove he is good father but learn about his daughters like and dislike...

There is nothing called as good father or mother ...after all parents are also human beings..but to put an effort to learn abt his daughter and be with his daughter is what makes Dev the best dad...and he controlled his emotions because he understood it was not his daughters fault..

Again I felt bad for Dev today...It is true that Sonakshi and Dev had a fight and got separated...but what he is going thru as a father...the pain of his seeing his daughter giving more importance to Jatin is not his fault...he never knew his daughter existed...

Soha is lucky to get a dad who is willing to leave everything to be with her...

Her statement that Soha keliye Jatin bahut kuch hain ...is making me think... I cant understand Sonakshi ...if she gave Jatin the freedom to get into the father figure role for her daughter...why did she come back and introduce Soha to Dev... Untill and unless a mother allows ...the child will not get this close to someone outside the family...even if they are family friends...there is a limit ...but for Soha Jatin is like a father..

why did she tell good things abt Dev to her daughter...now that poor child , Dev and Jatin all three of them will go thru a huge problem..when one of them start becoming insecure...Thankfully Dev controlled his emotions...but how long a father will go thru this pain..especially one like Dev..

This is one thing I don't like about Sonakshi...even before ...during her first break up ...she agreed to marry Ritwick...and finally she went to help Dev leaving Ritwick during their engagement...very confusing when it comes to her emotional side...

This is call pay back time; today I could see Ishwari's trait in Dev the insecure jealous person; Soha loves Jatin and Jatin-Soha bond is beautiful; he just can't break it for his own insecurity!!

No sympathy on dev he deserves this anyways why he is insecured of jatin I can't understand he can't keep sona happy but with jatin if sona and soha are happy why he is hurt he is sadist like his mom

I didn't feel bad for Dev because this situation is not so bad/solutionless. She could have tasted it/ had it after an hour or two. What is there to be disappointed? Even my mom cooks special dishes on days when I eat in the cafeteria in my office but forget to inform her about that. After reaching home, I will taste the dish prepared by her and sometimes save it for later. And trust me, my mom always makes sure that I like her food/I eat home food almost all the time.

Me too felt very sad for dev.. 😭 .. n soha until yesterday was on papa papa mode but today suddenly she was doing joty uncle jaap..

I felt this was a throwback to the Dushera episode where Dev eats food at Bose house, but when they return to In, he does not say they have already eaten, but says he is feeling hungry and eats Ishwari's cooking. Later when Sonakshi asks why he did not tell Ishwari that he had already eaten, he says he cannot download all his past in a few minutes/hours to her and cannot really explain why he did that.

What I felt sad was Suhana did not see the sadness in Dev's eyes. Only Asha understood his disappointment. Wish Suhana does develop a better bond with Dev where he gets first preference from her.

This is just my POV...😃

He's not there to break any bond. He wanted to spend time with his daughter and is bound to feel bad when he's not getting to do that.
