What exactly is Ishwari's issue with Sona?

I didn't start seeing this show from very beginning, so I think I missed out something important and so I was researching from beginning. Is this the that she doesn't want Dev ever to get married? I saw she had difficulty accepting Natasha, though she was telling him to think for himself and all. Then Sona's entry. I thought she was angry/hurt that Dev didn't bother to the her himself. All the dirty tricks she played being innocent made me think she is far worse than GKB. They broke up later she herself went and convinced Sona to marry seeing Dev's Devdas mode. But then she tried to keep them apart. why doesn't want her son to be happy? If she wanted to have grand children why did she try to keep both away from each other? Then she got them separated. She saw the state Dev was in. Why didn't she realise only Sona could keep him happy if she is hurt that her son is sad? I don't understand what kind of mom she is? Why doesn't she want her son's family completed?

Eshwari is a narcissistic mother.

There is not 1 but many reasons. -

Its not problem of only ishwari. All mothers have this issue. Only thing is normally everybody keeps it under control. But ishwari mata has made parading it as a virtue.

ishwari has a sic mind and wants her grown son to only love woman.. and thats herself! being manless, she wants Dev for herself.. sic

This is the doubt I have since the show started... And the doubt has grown complicated after the leap... Vansh bhi aage badhana hai, lekin Dev ke saath koi ladki honi bhi nahi chahiye... The contradicting wishes of Iswari... 😆

Even she said Dev aur soha ke beech sona kaise aa gayi? She doesn't understand had sona been not there soha wouldn't even come to world she is simply a typical Indian MIL.

i)Basically, Deb's mother Ishwari is possessive, so much that she doesn't want him to share his life with anyone else but her.

ii)She earlier thought that if Sona comes into Dev's life then she will snatch him away from her.This makes her really insecure and jealous thus she doesn't want Dev to be married to Sona.

iii)Why wasn't she so reluctant when Dev spoke about marrying to Natasha? The reason is because he had been marrying Natasha for business reasons, thus no love was included at all.

v)The reason why even Sona left the house was also partially GKB.She manipulated Ishwari of how Sona is making Dev come closer to her, and how Dev is not gonna love her anymore.Also the one who told Ishwari about the 5crore rupee drama was GKB...sab fasaad ki jad wahi hai.

vi)She accepted Sona as Dev's wife because she couldn't tolerate Dev's devdas drama.She loved her son, so she wanted him to live well, she could see the obsession he had...as in a reflection of herself in him.Hence, for his sake and well being she accepted this proposal.But since Ishwari is also possessive and obsessed about Dev, she couldn't tolerate Sona taking her place in his life.

vii)She does want her son to be happy.But with her not with anyone else.This is against Ishwari's rule book.

viii)She did want grand children, but maybe she'd forgotten the way she had kids or maybe the basic science one must know which has no relation to one's intelligence/literacy/education.

ix)She had made this fact really clear in her mind that she could be the only woman in his son's life.She loves her son and can do anything for him, except bringing a life partner for him.Even in real life a lot of women are like this sharing the same characteristics as Ishwari has:possessiveness, truly self centered-ness, immaturity , and senselessness

x)She hated the fact that since Sona has come into Deb's life, he had started hiding things from her which he had never done in his entire life, as if he will always be in her lap wearing nappy's.

She hated the fact that Deb had given 5 crore to Sourabh, Sona's brother without her permit.As if before signing all his deals, he asked her.

She hated the fact that Dev called Sona's mother, Asha 'ma' because Dev has the right to only call her as ma not anyone else.

This was also against Ishwari rule book.She had started to hate Sonakshi, and became spiteful and spineless.She was obsessed about dev, she wanted him to be with her for her sake not for Dev...everything which was happening was for her not for anyone else.Therefore it hurt her ego, and she had forced Sona to get out of the house.
