Couldn't life ever give her a break?

Sonakshi thought as she angrily washed the dishes that had been left unattended after breakfast that morning.

It had been four months since that fateful night when Dev finally resolved their differences and brought her back to Delhi or more specifically to the penthouse. She had been ecstatic to come back here, to start living with Dev again.

And it had been wonderful. She always knew that Dev was intense. But she never expected him to be so romantic. He had showered her with love and care and it had been absolutely amazing. But it hadn't just been that. They did have fights. And naturally, they were just as intense as their happy moments.

Like now.

Yes, they were having a fight. A big one.

It had all started the night before when Dev came home from work to announce that he had decided that Riya would be a suitable match for one of Dev's close business associate. He had gone as far as to plan a marriage between the two. Sonakshi had stopped him right then stating that she had had a chat with Riya that afternoon where she had been told that Riya absolutely despised the man.

Sonakshi had tried to explain that Riya would be unhappy with someone she couldn't stand being for a few minutes, let alone her entire life. But Dev, being Dev had just seen the practical side of things and thought of Riya's security. Well, there was also the fact that, being a business associate, Riya would be within Dev's reach.

Sonakshi had tried to reason again, bringing to light the importance of compatibility, of love. Well even if it wasn't love, it could be a person she at the least, liked. But Dev heeded to nothing, assuming that either way his decision would be final. That in turn had triggered something in Sonakshi and she had let the dam break. Whatever problems she had been facing came pouring right out.

**Flashback**

"Aap sab kuch control kyun karna chahte hai Dev? she yelled at him angrily.

Dev's eyes widened.

"Tumhara matlab kya hai?

Sonakshi pointed a finger at him, " Aap har cheez control me rakhna chahtey hai.

Dev grew angry, " Agar main har cheez apney control me nahin rakhunga toh sab theek se nahin chalega.

"Par aapka har decision sahi hoga, yeh toh kahin nahin likha hai. Sab kuch aapkey hisaab se nahin chal sakta. Dusro ke barein me bhi sochna chahiye Sonakshi glared.

Dev glared right back, " Main kisi aur ki feeling ki qadr nahin karta? Yeh kehna chahti ho tum?

Sonakshi huffed, "Aisa nahin kahan maine. Main bass yeh keh rahi hoon ki kabhi kabhi aap practically sochte hai and bade bade decision khud hi lene ki koshish karte hai. Dusro se bina baat kiye.

Dev stared at her, saying nothing.

They had been watching a film on TV when their argument had begun.

He looked back at the TV.

"Maine tumharey saath bhi aisa kiya phir? he asked her quietly. He didn't seem angry, but his tone conveyed anger.

Sonakshi looked at him.

"Kabhi kabhi. Jaise aapney mujhsey duur jane ka decision liya tha. Phir mujhey car kharidke dene ka decision. Phir mere promotion ke liye recommendation.

Dev didn't turn towards her. But he asked, " Aur tumhey car aur promotion nahin chahiye tha?

Sonakshi protested, " Bilkul chahiye tha Dev. Par khudhki mehnat se. I know aapney pyaar se diya. Paar aapney nahin poocha. Seedha kar diya.

"Main bohot khush thi un cheezon se. Par agar mehnat se earn karti, toh aur bhi khush hoti. You don't need to do such big things for me. Mujhey pata hai aapmujhsey bohot pyaar karte hai. Iske liye inn cheezon ki koi zaroorat nahin. Aapke saath rehna hi bohot hai she told him earnestly.

**End of Flashback**

But after that, Dev hadn't said a word. He had ignored her altogether. And that angered Sonakshi even more. He had left without saying a word this morning. Not even a good morning. She couldn't even think of a kiss at this point. And to think that today was their four month anniversary. Well Monthaversary technically. They had planned to celebrate it tonight. Sonakshi had even taken a day off today to make arrangements.

But it didn't seem like there would be any celebration now. It was already 8 in the evening.

Sonakshi walked to her room and slumped on her bed.

She let her tears fall. She missed him. Maybe she shouldn't have said those things last night. At least they could have spent tonight happily.

God how awful she felt. But she wanted to yell at him too. Why did he have to get angry now!

She heard keys jingling and then the sound of a door opening.

He was home.

She wanted to go running to him. To jump into his arms. But she wouldn't do it.

She cried some more.

But she waited, hoping he would come. Half an hour passed, but he didn't come.

She heard him moving around in the drawing room. But he hadn't made any approaches towards her door.

She had almost given up hope when she heard a light knock on her door. She jumped up on the bed and held her breath, without saying a word.

Then she heard him softly say, " Sonakshi?

That stirred something. She got up from her bed and walked to her door flinging it open. She had wiped her tears away while coming to the door.

"Kya hai? she asked, trying to act indifferent.

He extended his hand, urging her to follow him. Sonakshi did as she was told. Rather she didn't have the energy to refute and fight.

But after a while she was glad that she didn't fight. She was brought to the drawing room which had been decorated with pretty scented candles. And a yummy dinner lay on the mattress on the ground. And there were a great many pillows. A stack of DVDs sat on one side. Sonakshi gasped.

"Yeh!

Dev hugged her from behind.

"Happy four months Sonakshi he whispered into her ear.

Sonakshi whirled around and threw her arms around him and sobbed.

"Thank youuu!

Dev laughed.

"Tum ro kyun rahi ho?

Sonakshi looked up at him.

"Mujhey laga ki humare jhagre ki wajah se yeh nahin ho payega.

Dev flicked her forehead. "Jhagra apni jagah. Pyaar apni jagah.

Sonakshi laughed and hugged him again.

A yummy dinner and half a movie later, Sonakshi lay snuggled in Dev's arms on the mattress.

Dev suddenly sat up and made Sonakshi face him. She looked at him, confused.

"Sonakshi, I'm sorry.

Sonakshi furrowed her brows. "Kyun?

"Main iske baad control freak nahin banunga. Matlab at least koshish karunga. Sabsey baat karke hi decisions lunga he told her sincerely.

Sonakshi listened.

"Meri aadat ho gayi thi. Sab kuch theek rakhne ki. Par kab woh limit cross kar gayi, pata nahin chala. Thank you mujhey samjhane ke liye he told her.

Sonakshi broke into a big smile. She said nothing. Just went ahead and connected her lips with his.

Slowly their kiss grew heated. In a moment, Sonakshi was on Dev's lap their arms moving all over. Dev suddenly picked Sonakshi up and made his way to the bedroom, all they while kissing fervently.

They landed in a tangled mess on the bed. Sonakshi broke the kiss and stared at Dev, longing clearly in her eyes. She gasped to see the same longing reflected back in his eyes. They both wanted each other.

She silently gave him her consent. But Dev merely smiled.

He took her hand in his and said, " Abhi nahin. I know ki aajkal society agey badh gayi. If I make love to you now, koi kuch nahin kahega. But I want to do it the right way.

He lay beside Sonakshi on the bed and circled his arms around her.

" Pehley hum officially ek dusrey ke life partners banengey. Then I want to make our first night special. Jo tum kabhi nahin bhulogi.

Sonakshi couldn't believe her luck.

She truly had found someone extraordinary.

He was one in a million.

She sighed contended and then they both drifted to sleep slowly.

Also, I want to clear a confusion. When I said A story with Sharica I did not mean Sheer and Erica's story. Along with another Devakshi story, my other option was A story where the characters would be played by Shaheer and Erica but their names wouldn't be Dev and Sonakshi. It could might be, say, Vikram and err, Shanaya. Something like that. So I'd like you to clearly cast your vote so that I can choose!

So will it be

1. Another Devakshi story.

or

2. A story about two characters played by Shaheer and Erica. I repeat, it does not mean Shaheer and Erica's story.
