The word equality doesn't go with the concept of Chauvinism and Feminism. In fact many a times these words are wrongly used.

Initially for equal rights when women fought people called such women as feminist. So feminism is nothing but preaching of women's rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes.

Where as Chauvinism is an attitude which portrays members of your own sex are always better than those of the opposite sex .

Having said this its either male chauvinism or female chauvinism...which are negative traits in human behavior where as feminism is a good aspect...but sadly ppl these words have been used inappropriately !!

PS : That is why Sonakshi asks feminism mein burai kya hai!! 😆

thanks Ashwathy

agreed with u...when v say equality these terms shouldnt exist isnt it????both r equally wrong terms..n extreme

Feminism is equality of gender, not any special status or preferencial treatment for women.

Yes that office conversation was perfect coz it showed that in reality too the word feminism/feminist is often misunderstood n misinterpreted.

Feminism Is Such a word which has Been highly misused.Misunderstood And Has given so much misconception...

people take feminism as Females Are here too prove themselves Better than male
\\
But In real there Is sth To Be Equal..But Most of the fem use it as To Make themselves Superior..

Woman righs,Woman power These terms are really a pride To use But Upjhold the real meaning is too difficult

Woman Right or feminism Give u The Right To Estimate Women a bit upper but it doesn't give u the right To Underestimate male..To Show ur power u i's not needed To Point Out other weakness..To Use Ur strength It's not necessary To Prove Other Other Weak..

Most of the time I saw feminism has been confused with such an explanation where A female need to always right and a male will Be always Wrong..a Girl at The end Will Play her woman Power Card and Will Prove That She has some extra power to Rule over a man..burt that's not a feminism..

Not even feminism... chauvenism Or any other "NISM" in ThE world don't give any theory that will let a Gender To Belittle The opposite one..U will be big..But not by making oither Little but By giving the equal Right, respect To opposite gender/Party/Team/Partner..

That convo was perfect..So What the dev said..

Sonakshi was saying tum toh ladke ho kiyu karoge..and This line really don't match the actual Meaning of equality so Does it give The Biased Sense of being feminist..And then dev said Tum Equality ki baat karti ho ek taraf and then feminist ban jate ho..so true..this Actully confuse people what is a feminism..!!! Comparison can't be a part of any kind "NISM"..if u need to compare urself with other then what is Special in u for Which U can claim tht u deserve to be Different or have some special right..

Very nice post dear..I loved it

Hi...You are right about intersectional feminism...but you are mistaken about feminism. A little too lazy to explain the difference so pasting the below for your review. Also, the root word for Feminism is "Femina" (Latin) meaning Woman.

"Feminist theory, which emerged from feminist movements, aims to understand the nature of gender inequality by examining women's social roles and lived experience; it has developed theories in a variety of disciplines in order to respond to issues concerning gender.[6][7]

Numerous feminist movements and ideologies have developed over the years and represent different viewpoints and aims. Some forms of feminism have been criticized for taking into account only white, middle class, and educated perspectives. This criticism led to the creation of ethnically specific or multicultural forms of feminism, including black feminism and intersectional feminism.[8]"

In other words, feminism may be defined as a movement towards the equality of women in social, political, and economical arenas of life. Example," Equal pay for equal work" - Till date female workers get paid lesser than their male counterparts!!!
Ofcourse, every movement can go beyond what it started off as and diverge and distort from its premise.

Shows how oblivious people can be. I do not blame you, but this irritates me so much. So so so much! Like the writers, you clearly haven't read nor do you know what feminism is! Just having 'fem' in it doesn't make it an upvote to females being superior to men! Before blasting me, read the whole thing.

In my 15 years of life, this is one topic I am so passionate of and cannot go wrong with. If you cannot back it up, don't bring it up and I can argue endlessly and tirelessly about it all!

Feminism, rather intersectional feminism has NOTHING to do with female superiority. It is to do with advocacy of the human race and is a movement supporting equality. Nothing to do with gender, but solely equality. The term for feminine superiority is not feminism but misandry - opposite of misogyny.

Feminism is fighting against discrimination of race, gender, sexuality, culture, disabled people, body shaming, EVERYTHING! It fights for the cause of one day having a world of equality, which none of us have ever seen. Sorry but you know nothing of feminism, nor do the writers hence nor does Dev Dixit. So before saying you are against it, please know what it is. Half the truth is seriously far more dangerous than a lie!

And all those agreeing to the TM's post, please you also go read on what really is intersectional feminism and how important it is.

Honestly Dev Dixit would be the last person who can give a meaningful thought on feminism anymore 😆 I will stick to what it really means and how Dev Dixit's actions everyday proves that he doesnt support feminism and mocks them who do believe in it đŸ€Ș
