I think since they 've been told that Dev signed the prenup papers and wanted Sona to do the same...They forgot all what happened before the marriage...they think Dev being a momma's boy got carried away with His mom's saying and thus agreed to sign the prenup
Their problem with Dev is the fact that he couldn't take up a stand for himself & his wife!

Abt Sona not acknowledging Dev's efforts it's all because of the hatred being bottled up agnst Dev that led Sona to speak all that!🥱...and as soon as this hatred comes to it's end their Love will help them to heal over their wounds!😳

@Tia- "Please watch the episodes again if you think that Bijoy and Asha never accepted Dev as son-in-law. Their behaviour to Dev was far better and exactly like they treated Saurabh than Ishwari's behaviour to Sonakshi. "

Also this is the same family that was celebrating Dev's birthday with gusto wearing caps, cutting cake on his birthday eve- while the soo called SIL was celebrating birthday with his family while his wife (and their daughter) waited in front of a hotel for hm...alone its depressing to read Bijoy being compared to Ishwari. In fact all people complain against Sonakshi that she did not share her issues to Dev. Didn't these people notce that Bijoy in fact always encouraged her to do so. If she had actually listened to Bijoy, she would have been happier(according to some, coz Dev would have been made AWARE of her pain).
I off course feel that the day she would have been vocal about her bruised self respect, she would have pre-empted a quicker 'GET OUT'

That's what bothers me about people constantly comparing a father's concern WHEN his daughter is being mistreated vs. a mother's possessiveness and manipulation of keeping her son at her beck and call ALL THE TIME.

Equality means same or similar situation being compared. When you compare completely different situation and randomly pick incidents without any context, the judgement is bound to be skewed.

There is absolutely no comparison between these two characters.

But then you know how our society is. They expect a woman's parents to keep their mouth shut and look away without stepping in when their daughter is being mistreated and justify a man's family's ill treatment of a daughter-in-law any way they see fit because she is their property.

I hope every daughter gets such a fiercely protective father who will go against anyone who dared to hurt their baby instead of fathers who tell their daughters never to come back their home because now they only have one place to go - their in-laws.

But you don't have to wait for long. Just wait until Dev gets fiercely protective of Soha, the same people who are cursing Bijoy for standing up for his daughter will be praising him for the same reason. They won't think he is over-reacting then. Then he will be a great father who loves his daughter and can't see tears in her eyes..

i think it is not about Sona being right or wrong, it is about what the writers have in mind.. While i may be one of the ardent supporters of Sona, it is due to her being the ideal human being.. and there is no such thing in this world as an ideal human being.

it is like a hilarious quiz that i remember at School, many many years ago. our teacher told us this story.. in a room are four characters and one girl and the girl is asked to choose a groom for herself from the four. The four are - phantom, mandrake, tarzan and a Sardar ( no offence meant to anyone). The girl chose the sardar and the teacher asked us why.. the teacher then told us that the sardar is the only real character and the other three are all fictitious.

So also in the case of Dev. For all his faults, and no matter how much of bashing he gets, he is real. it is always better to chose the real over the fictitious.

Now enters, Mr Perfect , as someone rightly put it.. compared to him Mr Perfect will no have a blemish and he will be compared to Dev in all aspects.. so let us not fall into this trap..

of the characters in the show, if someone were to ask me as to who is the most real person, the answer is Dev and that is the reason he gets bashed up so often ( even by me - all in good fun). how can we bash someone who is so perfect? 😊😊😊 There won't be anything to write at all. That is why there are such less posts about Sona and more about Dev..

so enjoy!

Tia, I think the makers are all very clear .

they crafted Bijoy as a protective, loud family guy. And he protects all women of his family with same gusto- wife, mother, daughter and lets add grand daughter in this mix... Now Dadi was missing, but I am sure even if Dadi, Sona, Sourabh ,Soha and Asha were present , Bijoy would still adorably say the same truth "I love Asha the most"

However Dev - the earlier one protected only mother and sister. Wife made a huge mistake by appearing strong and hence was left to fend for herself, rather lick her wounds in private.

Ishwari is crafted as an insecure clingy women who is clingy and selfish enough to sabotage her own child's happiness.

What's to compare?

Bijoy -if he is convinced that Sona will be happy, will ask her to unite with Dev.

Ishwari- In her own words to Mamaji once " Sona is sooo good that there are chances Dev will forget me" She does not want Sona coz she is so good and can actually make her son happy.
