Yesterday's episode was so amazing, I could literally hug Dev was asking the right questions to Ishwari. I had been wondering about what was the point of leap if they had to show Dev still blindly dedicated to his mother, thankfully he proved that wrong. So Dev cares for Ishwari but at the same time he also knows that somewhere Ishwari played a big part in Dev and Sonakshi's separation. Now Ishwari may try hard to explain it to him that she never wanted to separate them but Dev knows and he remembers and he'll never forget. That's progress.

Let's talk about my dilemma now.

So far, we know that Dev knows that:

Ishwari was single handedly responsible for bringing Dev and Sona's relation down to the dumps.

He also blames Sona for not trusting him and breaking it off. He "thinks" that Sonakshi walked away from him, left him alone.
My question is, does he realise that he was equally (or maybe more) responsible for the divorce? He understood his mother's tricks but did he understand that he played the catalytic in this reaction?

Does Dev realize that he never, never supported Sonakshi against the insults spewd on her by Mami?

Does he realize that he never stood for Sonakshi against his mother, even when Sonakshi was right?

Does he realize that his mother's interference in his life was beyond the point of sanity?

Does he realize that he left no reason for Sona to trust him at that moment?

Did he find out that Vicky was the one who used that opportunity to break them apart?

I don't really know if he realizes all this or not. Because if he realizes it then he won't hate Sonakshi that much and if he doesn't realize all this then he'll definitely hate Sonakshi for the one decision that she took for her self respect.

I think he realizes how Sona was treated and that is why he now says 'Nobody except him can hurt her'. But realization and acceptance are two different things. Previous season also he had realized his mom's insecurity but never accepted.

That makes sense. It's good to see that he has put his mom off the pedestal but I want to know if he has been introspecting. That is really important because Dev was a huge let down as a husband and he better understand that.

I think we will get to see how he introspects as the story progresses. For seven years he has only lived with his memories of Sona and anger that she left him even though he chose her. So, his thought process has only been in this direction and in order to get over the emotions, he became kind of rebel. Currently, the attack has somewhat rekindled his emotion and he will try to go beyond his thought process and see the bigger picture. Atleast now he knows that Sona blames him for leaving her, so he may try to think why. I don't know how they are going to show this but he has to understand her point of view in order to move forward.

Dev has been quite interesting to watch since the new season. I feel like he has been passive-aggressively punishing everyone in his family, giving back tit for tat. Doing the "duty" bestowed upon him as the Son, yet not giving the mother every piece of him, as she is used to.
Vicky is being propped up , and as expected not doing very well. Mami is being snubbed openly as the nuisance that she is. And Ishwari does not have Dev to mollycoddle, but she has her house and the family she wants to put up, and his sisters seem well settled, away. I love watching Dev with his family, the sarcasm drips in buckets.😆👏

But his grouse for Sonakshi is different. I think he knows deep down, he wronged her. But she walked away and didn't look back once, not even the chance to make amends. (well, to be exact, we have no idea what exactly happened post Sonakshi walking out the house.)

Dev is OBVIOUSLY not over Sonakshi, at all. Whereas she looks like she's done with men.😆

But he might not be so understanding when he finds out he has a daughter, that she kept from him.

We are looking too much into the statement 'Nobody except him can hurt her' . The context has been the Haq as a husband which he claims.

I have problem with this statement itself. Who gave him the haq to hurt his wife - just bcoz he loves her she becomes his slave - whom he can hurt. Its a psycho thinking of husbands who think that its their right to hurt , mistreat , beat the wife and then expect that she will be happy to please him in bed in the night. Dev thinks on similar lines - "I can hurt you - but keep loving me and don't leave bcos you promised"

Yes it is wierd thinking. Better statement would be "Nobody except me can hurt you.. and I will never hurt you!"
