All's fair in love and war. In how many places have repeated this quote? In films, epic love stories, blood-filled war blockbusters, everyday life, jokes and banter? How about everywhere?

When we talk about Love we know that is what really makes human , Human ..Pun intended.😉 Since we really cannot live in an island and journey thru life alone.

Love when shared is unconditional..just like parents love for there children..There are other kinds of love too but they do come with some conditions attached to it..when the conditions are rigid there arises problems just like when the expectations are slack.

So some of Dev's actions Pre and post leap are termed as love . IF it is then why dont we term Sona's actions today as Love.. Is it because she is stronger? or because as a woman she needs to be the more giving?..or some other reason that I am not able to fathom

War- Kills -the object of it is winning at no costs even it means killing so can Love really be equated to this winning at no costs so that you kill the real essence

Something to ponder about when we glorify or tint certain actions as Love when it really does not give the vibe of Love?

Plato writes: "If there were an army made up of lovers and their loves, which would desert his beloved or fail him in the hour of danger The veriest coward would become an inspired hero, equal to the bravest at such a time; Love would inspire him."...So in essence All is really NOT FAIR IN LOVE AND WAR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope the writers know where they are going with this story

Loved this write up... No gemini all is not fair in love and war.

When we look back in history nothing can be termed as fair but for glorifying the gory details in war and the battles fought in the name of love as and when it suits the individual leaving humans with a skewed perception abt love.

Personally the worst war in the name of love fought was by Hector for Paris' love. In the end paris got what he wanted but about the loving family Hector had. But he is glorified as a great warrior who fought for his brothers love.

Even the acid attacks nowadays are related by media as an result of wronged love when thy r supposed to hammer it as criminal act. Some human interest stories thy want..

I might go on nd on cribbing abt this nd its a never ending topic.

This is truly a brilliant write up.👏 In my opinion, all is NOT fair in love and war.
We have read about many wars. Some of the wars were claimed to be fought for love.Really?? Then what is the use of such love which leads to war??Because war will only result in endless carnage.

As @Havima mentioned, the Trojan War was caused only because of a wayward prince's infatuation and so called 'love' for a married woman.Just because of his childish activity many great heroes like Achilles and Hector had to lose their lives. One whole city was destroyed.Women were raped and children were killed. So is this love justified???
Wars are never completely fair and square. And if Love is used as a motive to cause war then that love is not justified.

Coming to Dev and Sona's equation,I don't see any love at all. This is pure war which Dev has waged. And Sona has no choice but to retaliate because he has pushed her to an extreme point.

In my opinion,if love turns destructive then it's not love anymore. And love is not the only thing which sustains a relationship. It's respect and trust which are extremely necessary.
After all the dirty tricks Dev has played and all the filthy words he has uttered to Sona,it would be a shame if he ever tells that he 'loves' her.

Because everything is NOT fair in love and war.

Another excellent post!
My point of view is that all is fair only in war but not in love. In love it is more about giving up... we give up ourselves for the one we love. It is less about 'me' but more of 'you'. what we see is giving and taking in equal measure if not more. This is not love at all.

Thanks. This is what the victorious claim, not the defeated; the powerful, not the powerless. 'All is fair.' 'The end justifies the means.' Here what is the END ? Do the writers know or CARE?

Thanks .. I think this show has strayed and remains strayed ..not able to fathom where the Love is? or if Love is the ENDGAME because from what I am reading the whole show has become tacky, dramatic, insensitive and only the good looking actors are keeping it afloat..my question is for how long?

Lovely post... i recently saw a show where hero says if you love somebody and your love is real you cannot be a monster and your love cannot be a destructive... I always feel saddened to read about wars fought for love... esp the Trojan ...where is love in it? it is pure obsession and utter selfish...
As you all said love should accompany trust and respect... I love her/him but don't bother about her/his feeling or emotions mean it is not real love...

All is not fair in love and war...

Thanks for replying. Yes we tend to glorify throughout history why we went to war ..and Love was thought to be one of them too..but War is War I dont think Love has anything to do with it

Could you tell me what this show is?

I just did a post on how Dev and Sona's war is reminding me of the movie 'The War of the Roses' a black comedy and the movie was supposed to be an allusion to Wars of the Roses ...wars fought between house of Lancaster and House of York.

Not sure what the writers are trying to convey through this public showdown between the protagonists. Stopped trying to figure out why they present the content they do. Now watching the show to see how they plan to bring the protagonists together after all this. In Dev's words...I'm curious 😆

I will not say all is fair in love and war...but I will say this. That to win wars or love..one cannot always be righteous. There are times when life and love need alternative thinking.
