But I wish to say I really admire your posts,Tia's posts and some other posts.

Patriarchy is a system which is unable to accept an independent and successful woman. And if she does succeed on her merit and capabilities then the system chooses to overlook it.Dev's problem is that he is unable to see that Sonakshi has managed to stand on her own feet and become successful without any help. That's why he attempts to belittle and discredit her.

And the name which Sonakshi called him is something which he truly is.What is wrong in calling him spineless and Mama's Boy because it's what he is.He deserves every bit of it.
Also I have observed that most of Dev's mistakes are overlooked or people are willing to overlook his mistakes. They try to paint him as a tragic hero.Every harsh word he uttered to Sona is conveniently forgotten. However Sona is looked down for the fact that she hid Soha from Dev.

I just wish to ask something. What would have happened if she had told him about Soha??Dev wouldn't have wasted a moment before taking Soha away.Soha would have been raised with the Dixits. She would not have the positive upbringing which she got with the Boses. Also knowing Ishwari and Radha, who knows that they wouldn't try to poison the little girl's mind against her mother??Moreover according to the pre nup agreement,Dev is not responsible for his children with Sona in any manner.
And how on earth is Soha suffering by not knowing about Dev??Infact she seems to be very happy and content.I feel that it was her fortune to be away from the toxic Dixit clan.

I could not agree more.. like what tinkefairy said, the truth hurts.. the problem lies in the fact that we blur the lines between characters and actors. I have said this before, said it now and will keep saying it. it is the character that we talk about it.. and not the actor.

the points that you have raised are absolutely valid. here is what one person promised Sona.

That he loves her like a man loves a woman, That she is his life and he cannot think of a life without her.

Yet, when it actually mattered, he forgot the most key promises made. We keep forgetting this. If Sona broke some promises, Dev broke many many more.. but still only Sona's promise breaking is remembered and all of Dev's promises that were broken are forgiven!

Manifold cheers to Manhood!!

And I'll enjoy hearing the word that shall not be spoken. Spineless. Music to my ears really.
On a serious note,I am unable to understand such double standards and sky high expectations of selflessness ,maturity or understanding from women especially by women.
As Gemini said, a strong woman who can give it back whenever required is termed as egoistic or arrogant or b***** but the same by a man is assertiveness or strength of character.

again, sadly, the truth. and it really hurts..

I know, right. I was truly shocked to see that some people are still defending Dev. Really, Sonakshi should have taken the insults lying down. Because nothing makes a man more attractive than when he is a jerk and nothing makes a woman more attractive then when she plays the victim.

Tia, i am not surprised. Hero worship is here to stay atleast for some more time.

As an aside, I wonder if ever a movie like Erin Brockovich can be remade in Indian local languages, without too much chopping... and see the kind of reception it gets.

yes she will vent her anger and she has the right to do so how else must tread through life when she cannot call the man she once loved what her heart feels this very moment

Sonakshi calling dev spineless its not because she wants to show she too can use words on him she is hurt , isn't he the man that married her and promised her the universe

i think deep down, Dev knows that every word Sona spoke is right.. As much as he is provoking her to think of his value and worth, i think She is doing just the same..

If you are referring to that fight 7 years back then Sona has said lot of things to Dev .She has accused him of things he never did .Why just blame Dev ?

We all know whether Sona was genuinely praising him for motivating or taunting him .If she wanted to thank him she could have that done in private .There was no need to go on stage .

She has always used the words spinless and mama's boy even before the leap .So this is not because of Dev's current behavior.

Of course, the truth hurts.. as much as it hurt THE DEV DIXIT today... he had the creamy dialogues for the better part until the truth came its way.. and we all know that one cannot escape the truth.. if it was tch tch sona, i actually felt like titling my post as "ouch Dev"! 😊

Dear Mr. Das,
You wrote a marvellous post. But with 'ouch dev' - you slayed!
Take a bow!
Both shaheer and erica were superbly mind blowing today - so proud of this talented jodi. Shaheer with his acting skills makes us all feel for the character, and erica with her amazing screen presence and strong characterization is just fantastic.
With regards to the show, Dev's facade is withering, he is on constant bad behaviour to seek Sona's attention, wants her reaction but like before, stops right before he starts getting insulted by Sona. In his heart, he knows Ms Bose is right, like always, but cannot lose his mind.
I don't understand WHEN, EXACTLY WHEN catharsis will hit him, shake him and he will wake up and SMELL THE COFFEE!

I could not agree more. Both are marvelous actors, very professional, and keep to the script. If there is any failure, it is of the writers and no one else. Keeping aside all this dirty linen washing, i think Shaheer's expressions were so spot on and so was Erica's serious demeanor. Just like Supriya is synonymous with Ishwari, so are Shaheer and Erica. it is difficult to separate them from the characters they play and maybe that is why there is much of emotions involved in the analysis.

There was a post sometime back asking people not get personal but making statements like hero worshipping isn't that come under personal attack ? Is this part of constructive criticism ?

We talk about progressive thinking but where is the progressive thinking when real members who are supportive of ML are called with names like hormonal teenagers , drooling over ML , hero worshipping. Is progressive thinking limited to reel characters ?

A male forum member blindly supporting FL is considered as standing up for women but when a female member is sympathetic towards ML then they are shame to womanhood or they drool over dreamy looking ML .

So is progressive thinking and feminism all about supporting one set of gender ...are we saying we women are not capable of thinking logically if see a handsome man ...are women so deaperate that our brain stops working the moment a guy flashes his charming smile ...and we cannot find men in the real world that we are forced to drool over some actor

Loved your note... I was wondering was it the same couple who were totally in love with each other...how can you hurt someone whom you loved so much...and I feel they still do...but they have hurt each other very badly...and those wounds are once more raw after seeing each other...the only difference betwn the two is all about upbringing ...

Dev and Sona both were brought up very differently ...any day Sona had a better childhood and upbringing that reflects in a classy character...

Regarding people not liking Sona calling Dev spineless ...our society is still very orthodox in nature ...when it comes to women pointing fingers at a man...and in the case Dev was her husband...pathi parmeshwar hotha hai ...that is what has been taught ...so now the thought is how could she call him spineless...especially when he was thinking abt her office employees safety rt ??
My answer to all those people would be...he was not thinking of their safety...if it was only safety then he could have told her in the first place ...which he didn't ...he made scene out of it ...got the court injunction order...why all the drama?? So what ever he did was done ONLY to hurt her...
and she gave it back...royally...he couldn't deny any word...

It is very difficult for ppl to accept a woman at par with a man in a professional world...and we are way behind accepting such truth. Its only now that people have started allowing their daughters to be professionals...People are not used to it...its not something that can be changed overnight too... that's the sad part...
