Awesome analysis. Thanks Sabita and shaavi.

In childhood I had read about an experiment where lion cubs were imprisoned since childhood. First they were kept in iron cages. They made a lot of effort to get out but ultimately failed. Then they were deliberately kept in plastic or bamboo cages so weak, they could have broken them in one push. But the lions didn't even make an effort. They were the prisoners of the mentality that they can't break free of these cages.

Another case is if a goat kid which is brought up in the same cage as a lion. He is not allowed to be eaten as the lion is tied but the will to live is sucked out of the goat kid.

Same way Ishwari too sucked out the life from Dev by psychologically raping him. I don't have any other word for what she did. She sucked out his free will, his desire to live, to enjoy, to be himself.

Whenever after marriage, he tried to be himself, she again started her psychological torture, as she knew it would activate Dev's gut reactions.

And such habits are not easy to break. Dev's entire psyche was trained to follow Ishwari, to look upon her as Goddess, to rever her.

Much like those women in the satsangs who happily chant this verse of ramcharitmanas by tulsidas - 'Dhor ganwar shudra pashu naari, yeh sab tadan ke adhikari'

So trained to chant, that we forget we are abusing ourselves.

It takes a major event to come out of such psychological training. In Dev's case it was loosing Sona. That is why I am sympathising with him now a days. Because he has at last managed to come out of Ishwari's control and has realised what he has lost

I will start loving and respecting him the day he understands and acknowledges his role in his breakup.

Thank you...😊 Your examples are bang on!!!. Dev tried very hard to balance things. But unfortunately he did not have the right tools with him. Nor the people around him made it any easier.

The Dev in him was still emotionally 8 years old and he never had the opportunity to grow or learn emotionally. Only because of Sonakshi he was getting that chance. That is when he started to learn that "heart is a heavy burden" and there are consequences.

Part of the error from Sonakshi's side where she did not let Dev know how hurt she was because of all that she had to bear. If only Sonakshi had communicated that she was affected by maami's words, Dev would have said something(just my POV). Since she did not say anything, he thought that just like him, she did not really care about maami's words too...

Wish he had gotten more time in Shimla. He would have been stronger to deal with what happened next. Sonakshi would have been more open and told him all that she felt, not just regarding infertility, but everything...

What hurt Dev the most is her calling him a "loser". Hopefully both of them will be able to get past those hurtful words and see the truth. Both of them need to acknowledge their role in the breakup...

Wish that CVs don't disappoint us...😃

Thank you... for making this thread. This makes so much sense on so many levels...

Shaavi... Kudos!! Amazing writeup . Brilliant analysis.

"Dev held Ishwari as the primary person responsible for his pain while the Dev Dixit held Sonakshi responsible for his current condition."

This makes so much sense now...
Thanks for an amazing writeup.

Thank you...😊. What Dev is running away is this internal conflict. He needs to face his demons, both internal and external... And the truth of what Vickky and maami did is very crucial for the next phase of the story...

eashwari is the evil master! She has groomed Dev to be under command so he can provide a lavish life for her and her daughters!

I doubt even the writers put this much thought and complexities when creating Dev dixit!

Thank you...😊. Ishwari is not inherently evil. She is just a misguided person who in her fear and insecurity created this mess.

Once she stops listening to maami and her words and start seeing things with her own eyes, she will be someone who will love Sonakshi more than Dev...😊

While reading this it was a clear picture of the turmoil the prince is going through... It was almost to the extent of two different characters but it the reality it was one individual ...but dev had always said to sona he was selfish and wanted her to himself... and he had already made up his mind what he wanted...but sona never said anything ...and I don't think she really understood him...when you looked at the wedding night they fought primarily because of ishwari but sona could have said to him Ithat she understood what he was trying to do but sometimes it is necessary to speak to each other...but she didn't she got upset and again left him to himself...when they should have been happy...when she kept the fast against his wish...he again give in...yes she was the calm inside of him because he saw her as his strength... Dev dixit was on a journey to become dev the hurdles were to much they both kept on making false promises but when it was time to cash in on the promises neither could keep their promise to each other...

That night in the farmhouse when he chose sona...she did not trust him her rage and anger took over that she trusted Vikki words...in the episodes after shimla she did not give him a fair chance again I am not condoning the slap but she refuse to speak to him and I felt there all hell broke loose...I still think sona should have spoken to dev...and I still maintain she was out of place to return the cheque it should have been sharub returning the cheque to dev but then again we won't have gotten season 2.,,but I think dev is back and dev dixit died that night in the farm house...dev is back stronger and I think he will challenge his lady love to win her back and he knows this task is hard...but he may also see sona business not being able to sustain itself in the current economic downturn and he will rightfully give her what was always hers ...but it maybe he will leave it to suha and sona the trustee but he will have a watchful eye on it...he maybe the fun loving dad to suha and look after her while sona conquers the world...it would be nice to see him taking suha to the PTA...it would be nice role reversal for Hindi drama,...

Thank you... 😊. He still does not know the hurtful words uttered by Vickky. it will be worth watching when Dev will come to know of what actually transpired that night, what Vickky said and did...

I am now feeling pity for Vickky... Hopefully maami will have lot of tablets for his pain...

Such a deep evaluation. Each word is true and truly represents Dev. Probably this is the reason no one could ever hate Dev beacuse those split of personalities was so complicated that at best u could always sympathise with him.

Once again congratulation on such an amzing analysis

Thank you... 😊. I truly feel bad for him. All he wants is simple things in life, but the people whom he called family mainly Ishwari failed to understand that...
