I am thinking what if Sona instead of Dev was shown a successful, flirt and a drunk after 7 years leap? Roaming on a bike, flirting with her daughter's school sir to make him pass her daughter, taking swigs of alcohol from a bottle in her purse. Would people have accept that new Sona as they have accepted this new Dev?

Please tell me..

Obviously not we live in a modern world yet its true when we men do any horrendous acts society accepts it as "He Is A Man " ""Its Okay " " He Is Free To Do Anything "

now when a woman tries the same she be called names and society will point fingers at her upbringing

would I have accepted the new Sona ... perhaps I'm not sure

Cannot imagine and frankly speaking cannot accept as being an Indian .
We called ourselves modern, yes we are but we cannot leave away the basic foundation. And that moral ethics will allow a girl to do so.

A very good question.

I had raised the same point in Deepa's post yesterday. After all, Sonakshi had been the one who had dreams of fairy tales and Prince Charming. In her own words, the Prince turned out to be a frog. She lost her trust in him and in the concept of love. So would we be OK with her turning into a cynical flirt??

If that reasoning is not justified for Sonakshi's behaviour, if we are not OK with that scenario, it does not justify Dev's either.

Basic foundation is - moral ethics are the same for every one. Not gender based. WE.. or rather PEOPLE twist the ethics to suit their own purposes.

So if it is OK for Dev to flirt with a teacher right in front of his young impressionable nephew, it should be fine for Sonakshi to sweet talk her way out with a male teacher of Soha. If Sona is wrong to do that then even Dev is wrong to do this. Whether or not the kid is his own son... Golu still idolises his uncle.

Life of Sona would have been different if Soha was not there . I am not saying she would have gone pub hopping with any one whom she meets ...but she wouldn't be this focused.

For Dev , if he knew abt Soha from the beginning then his life would have been different..how different I don't know ...but definitely not a Casanova..

Kids bring in a lot of discipline in ppls life...

Another point is Women become much stronger than men when they go thru troubled times...they don't break free/loose..now there are exception to every character but what I said is from a general pov.

For me moral values for men and women are same...I don't find it interesting to see the Casanova Dev. I cant understand and justify all the other aspects of his ...even if he had fallen in love with another lady ..it was fine...but Casanova...no that is not something I will accept or try to justify!!

Very valid point...
No one would have accepted that...because in today's world we still are a man dominated nation and all wrong doings by men are still being ignored and forgotten.. people expect girls to forgive their partner even if there is infidelity involved and when girls does something like that, she is badmouthed by the same so called " society"..

We still have a long way to go on giving same acceptance to male and female..
