Or jerks as heros
In tele world It's so common for heros to be just that ...Kings in their space ...Run Buisness by going to office ones Ina year and still making enough money to support a expensive and extravagant lifestyle and family

Hard work is so over rated lol

And heroine ...She needs to work hard ..Have the strongest possible reason to break a marriage ...Still carry the burden of not being the understanding wife to king's hidden love or rather power
Power to hurt ...Power to buy... Power to disrespect ..Power to ask people to leave or stay

The only accepted story from here would be dev realizing he has gone too far and doesn't deserve to be loved ...And definitely doesn't deserve the larger than life stature his mom ones gave him

The post leap story has just started and how Dev is and why is he doing all this is yet to be unfolded.
You need to wait and watch... Dev has always loved Sona and has never harmed anybody intentionally... He is still fulfilling all his responsibilities and it is to be seen now, whether he kept tab of Sona's professional growth, which is highly possible.

Yep, because heroes are men and heroines are women. So of course double standard will apply.
And to justify double standard, we have a handy and as per some people undeniable excuse - Indian culture.

When I boast of Indian culture, I talk about India's contribution to mathematics, lowest budget Mars mission, fastest rising superpower, everyone loves Indian food/clothes/multiculturalism.

But I don't brag about inequality for women, I don't brag about justifying crime with the excuse of "men will be men", I don't brag about dowry which is still given and taken or our tendency to blame the victim if she is a woman.

Funnily enough, India culture is NOT having a double standard for women. Before any other part of the world, we had women scholars, warriors, ruling queens, doctors etc. Gargi, Maitrayee, Lopamudra, Lakshmi Bai, Razia Sultana to name a few. Over time we adopted the Pathan/Mughal/British concept of treating women differently than men and now we pass it on as our culture and women believe it.

Britain no longer follows their past culture anymore. But we do.

I totally agree the leap has taken place and already we are seeing a new revived Dev
dependent on himself but we'll only truly know more about him as time goes by
