Both families are to be blamed equally for Dev and Sona's separation.
Their family ego's, miscommunication, and interference in Dev and Sona's life crossed the border line.
If Dixit family is dependent on Dev's earnings then yes Bose family too dependent on Sona's earnings. Maybe because of this reason or for other good reason but whatever the main thing is Both Ishwari is possessive about Dev and as well Bijoy is about Sona.
Mainly there is too much interference knowingly or unknowingly in their personal life's had caused the damage.
If Dev couldn't see his mom's interference then Sona too couldn't see her Dad's unnecessary interference in her life.
If you ask me how then here are few examples-
I decided not to mention Dixit's side as most of you already talked and no point repeating the same song again and again.
But, Bijoy I definitely want to remind how he also interfered in Sona's life- here are u few flashbacks-
When Elena had eloped with Vicky, Bijoy was very aware of the fact Dev was using all his influence to find Elena. In spite of that Bijoy had filed FIR against Dixit family and came screaming at women in the house he gave left and right to Ishwari and everybody. He was yelling at top of the roof. In spite of all that Dixit family have accepted Elena as bahu and forgot about Bijoy's misbehavior and did not take it on Elena or Sona. Imagine Guys if Bijoy was in the place of Dixit's then one can't imagine how he would have screamed.
When police had arrived at Dixit's house then the Dixit family also had a BIG blow to their "Swabhiman". and very next day Bijoy and Asha comes to Dixit's house to talk to new bride Elena. But again Bijoy yelled at Ishwari and accused her calling him as dhood Walla.
Bijoy too loses cool without knowing the true facts.
Dev calling Asha as "Aunty" was totally wrong but Dev said it on the phone, but when Bijoy came to know about it, he insulted Dev on his birthday in front of everybody especially in front of Ayaan's family.
Does he understand this could have caused a problem with Riya's alliance? Of course! Nobody knew the Ayaan's intentions at that point but what if it would have been a great alliance.
He could have talked to Dev privately about this matter. But he left no chance to puncture Dev and his family's Swabhiman when he gets a chance.
Bijoy got angry at Dev for lying to Sona about false pregnancy and pumped his adrenaline to hold Dev by his collar and yelled at him in front of the house publicly. When in fact, Dev married Sona in spite of knowing she won't be conceiving only because of his pure love for Sona but Bijoy, unfortunately, couldn't see the bigger picture.
Bijoy and his family knows Ishwari's dynamics very well and so he was very worried and he insisted Sona tell false pregnancy news immediately to Ishwari before it reached thru somebody else. Why didn't he tell Sona to talk to Ishwari about the 5 crore investment when they came to know about it same time?.
Was it because pregnancy cannot be hidden for long, so he insisted on that topic?
Or he knew the fact that it was a big amount and hard to repay soon and conveniently kept quiet on that topic?
Bijoy very cleverly said to Ishwari and GKB that it was a business deal between his children's and Sona and so, he kept away from it...
So, Mr.Bijoy doesn't or never involved in any of Sona's matter?
It was very good to see Sona helping Bose family in collecting the 5 crore amount.
I really like the way she was handling it with calm and patience. Honestly, I got very emotional watching those scenes. Trust me! Been there...knows how one feels in that situation.
Definitely, Sona is a great daughter but she should have drawn a line at that point. I think Sourav should have taken responsibility of returning the check back to Ishwari as he was involved in the money transaction.
Wouldn't Saurav offer to go and leave sona out of the mess especially when he was involved in that deal?
I'm not saying because Saurav is Sona's elder brother or because he's a man but even if it would have been Sona's sister in Sourav's place I would tell the same.
I sincerely feel Saurav should have gone to Dixit's house. At least it would have done less damage.
I really feel bad for Sona and Dev...They are made for each other and such a loving couple but unfortunately neither of the families understood them.
Btw guys, I'm not Dixit nor Bose it's just my POV. I don't want to be biased to either family.

I love your analysis! Never really liked Bejoy a lot, but he was one of the only one who knew about Ishwari. A lot of his advices are correct, but I don't like his idea of implementation. I mean I fell he can be kind of Hippocratic, he talks about self respect but he insulted the Dixit's self respect by money issue on the day of slap. But many of his advices are reality, Ishu blamed Sona for the pregnancy etc. I felt originally that Bejoy would be most understanding of Dev with pre-nup etc. But all of that seems pointless now.

Bijoy had not interfered in sona's matter before dev left her for ishwari
He was supportive father...and was very nice to dev before 1st breakup

But after breakup he dint trust dev just like we did...it was sona's blind love that he had to give in to her demands...!!

And dev proved it again and again...that he could do anything for ishwari

Did he ever try to confront ishwari about her insecurities?NO
He only allowed her to manipulate him...may it be stop calling Asha Ma or forcing treatmnt for soma or managing their sex life

Glad to read such an unbiased analysis. Agree with you on every line. Bijoy Bose is no less faulty in causing damage to the marriage. But since he is Sonakshi's father he is always glorified . Except a handful of us others conveniently overlooked his misbehaviour . ..Thanks for highlighting his share in breaking the bond.

yes agree with u...its always safe to play bad and good cop in any relationship to be survive
Sona knows very well Dev personality...so she should have raised her voice when he got calmed down
because any intelligent person would follow that logic...being confident and strong is good but not over confidence!

yes, he never understood his Son in law in a bigger picture...to me along with GKB..Bijoy involvement is more in their separation... ok fine Dev didn't tell his mom about the investement...but don't Bijoy understand that he did all that to help his daughter and her family with good intention...and so he should have toned down little bit and should have explained to them in calm...but he failed to do that and then unfortunately slap thing happened...directly or indirectly Bijoywas also responsible!

actually Bijoy is over supportive father and that had caused the BIG problem..everyone seeing in different perceptive...and some who are totally biased with one character and to these people whatever u talk makes no sense...my sincere POV is only to "NORMAL" people who are matured enough to understand the family dynamics and different personalities...thank you!
