Dev Dixit- A guy who fell in love with Sona, broke up with her because he was afraid his mother will take her life and married her because his mother approved..or so he thought. Came across her medical condition before marriage but did not want to reveal it to her because he was afraid that Sona will not marry him , or that Easwari will not let him marry her
So to quote MLK ' There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic , nor popular, but he must take it because consciences tells him it is right'.
So Dev 'took a stance to marry Sona because he loved her and did not want to lose her.. Say we give him this brownie point HERE
Sona married Dev inspite of him breaking up with her because she understood why he broke up with her, thought Esawri has changed ..Let us give her brownie point here.. true Love yadda yadda
Questions:
Did Dev have an opportunity to reveal the reports to Sona after marriage?. They slept in the same room and spent time together? why was he silent?
Did Sona after knowing that she cannot ever conceive ever have a moment to grieve I would call it unrealistic if she did not grieve because this is a BIG THING..before plunging into having a child to please her MIL?. Did she think about the magnitude of this that she will never be able to have a child with the man she loves? and her man truly loves her in his own convoluted way .
So what kind of marriage is this where the partner wants to shield the other by resorting to silence, and self sacrifice. isn't marriage a journey where you face things TOGETHER. Together being the operative word here
As far as I see it Dev has been bullied into silence and Sona has been made a victim in this story I wouldn't bring in Easwari in the equation here here because we have our own free thought and BOTH DEV and SONA seems to have lost theirs
To quote Frost
Never be bullied into silence , Never allow yourself to be made a victim accept no ones definition of your life , define yourself
If you arent actively standing up for what's right you are part of the problem and certainly cannot expect the problem to go just magically go away
