Dev and God's equation didn't get much explored owing to the fact that Dev believes himself to be an Atheist and atheists do not generally talk about God much in their day to day life. For the writers, it was enough to show till now how he believes that he doesn't believe in God. And they successfully established so, if you or the other viewers did raise their eyebrows while seeing Dev praying to God or visiting the temple yesterday to challenge God.
What I meant by saying that they have explored Dev and God's relation is that he is getting too much dependent on his belief of disbelief in God in the current track. And that for sure will have its result. Because you don't send your atheist heroes (he believes himself so), to temples everyday unless you have a future co-related scene to show to the audience later.
From all the issues that the CVs need to address in the show, one of them is also to show how Dev's faith in God is restored.
I know dev is doing wrong by hiding the truth but
He is also same from beginning of show, when it comes to his family and love...he didn't think about consequences and CVS r showing only that...maybe CVS want to see dev believe in God.
I do not think there exists any single hero on TV, who is like Dev. Reason being that, he has this weird desperation within him to make everyone else love, whom HE loves.
If you look at all the heroes currently on television or even men in real, you will realise that for majority of them it is all about I Love You', You Don't Know How Much You Mean To Me', No One Loves You More Than Me', You Are The World For Me', I Can't Live Without You' etc. While Dev also has uttered the same words to Sonakshi, but inside his heart he has this desire of getting her love and respect from others as well. Among existent TV heroes, no one really cares if or whether their better half is really treated by others the same way they do. At least I haven't seen a man feeling sad because his wife didn't get as much love from others as he showers on her.
Dev is different in this case. He wants his lady to be treated exceptionally by everyone around him just like the way he treats her (same feelings as that of Bijoy Bose). If he is proud of her, then everyone else around him should also be proud of her. That's his kind of logic. And when that doesn't happen, it saddens him and he can go to any length to make sure that it happens by hook or crook.
The beauty of this character also lies in the fact that a man with the stature of Dev Dixit has absolutely zero ego when it comes to his wife. I can guarantee you, if tomorrow, Dr. Sonakshi Bose surpasses or equals herself with the status and stature of Dev Dixit financially, then among the entire Dixit clan, probably he will be the happiest. And he will not at all like it if Ishwari, Neha or Maami ji express their disappointment with regards to her success.
His logic is simple, "She is the best. She is better than me. I love her. I admire her. I am proud of her. Then why can't others feel the same for her?". It may sound childish but he is like that. And that's the very reason even in yesterday's episode he acted as a mindless man to get Sonakshi some love from his own mother.
He is that man who wants his wife to be loved by his family. It's a simple want but still is probably the most difficult wish that Dev ever had. And because of these reasons, just like you, no matter how much I use him as a punching bag in my articles, I still love and admire him. Because Dev Dixit, despite his stupidity, flaws and emotional baggage, has the best intentions and is really one of a kind man. Let me tell you, you will get a lot of men round there who will tell you, "I love you", but there would really be few of them who will constantly remind you, "I am proud of you and you are the best for me".
