Just when we thought we may get some much needed respite from Ishwari drama and hopefully a little surprise romance because of Dev's plan...the CVs have decided to unleash the infertility track on us.

Its a matter of time ...very soon, we will need boxes and boxes of tissues. Here's some information on Sona's medical problem - inhospitable uterus. Sona who has thus far been the strongest will break down and I for one am waiting to see Dev as her pillar of support.

Inhospitable Uterus

Inhospitable uterus is a term used to describe a condition in the uterus that makes it difficult to become pregnant, or difficult to stay pregnant, because the lining of the uterus is not favorable for an egg to be fertilized by sperm, or for the egg to implant in the wall of the uterus.

Endometriosis means that some of the lining of the uterus is growing in places it shouldn't be, such as the fallopian tubes...and that makes it tough on sperm to fertilize the egg. Endometritis is an infection...even a low grade one... in the lining of uterus that keeps it inflamed and prevents a safe nurturing environment for the fertilized egg. Many times the egg can't implant itself in the uterus to grow.

Another thing that can make the uterus unfriendly for a fertilized egg is polyps and fibroids. Sometimes removing these before pregnancy can make the environment more inviting and nurturing for the fertilized egg.

Sometimes these conditions can be successfully treated...sometimes they can't.
