I am new to the show. I recently started watching KRPKAB. I guess since I am new to the show, it is hard for me to digest all this as I can't go back in the forum to read the discussions that might have happened when the episodes were aired. So I decided to create a thread to clear my mind and get some peace. So please bare me!😊

Lets start from initial episodes, I loved every bit of the nokjhok between Mr Dixit and Ms Bose. As the show started to progress Sonakshi fell in love, then Dev fell in love, they both confessed, decided to tell their respective families, then came Ishwari and tried hard to separate them, then dev became Devdas so got approval from his mom and they got married.
I was fine but not happy with Dev's character (even though the maa beta ka relationship started getting a little out of control) until before the wedding. But, since the day they got married Dev has treated Sonakshi badly. He always kept his family before Sona which is good but to some extent. He is a very confusing person. He takes a decision w/ sona and changes it in no time just coz his sister (neha) throws tantrums about how she never gets what she wants and his mom who is crazily possessive about her son. He then forcefully changes the decision and treats Sona like an outsider by saying I can't explain it to you in a week and you won't understand.

I know his character is still building but Dev's character is the worst Husband character I have seen among the daily shows. I would have understood him to react this way if he was forcefully married to Sona but that is not the case here. He loved her and married her. But, Sona's life is worse than an arrange marriage into some conservative family. Her in-laws think of her as an Outsider. What can be worse than that!

When a girl gets married and goes to her husband's house, she wants/ expects her husband to understand her situation/condition. She expects him to let her know that he is there for her. She expects him to give her sometime to adjust and cope with the fact that she will not be waking up with her mom's breakfast or her dad's hugs or her sibling's mischievousness. She expects him help her mix up well his family well. But Dev has done nothing for Sona. He says he understands but he is blinded by his past and his mom/Neha. When it comes to Neha/ his mom he even supports them when they are wrong but hesitates to support Sona even when she is right. An example of it would be Dev's birthday episode. He knew it was wrong for him to make Sona wait. He knew he should have told his mother to wait for Sona before cutting the cake. He knew it was unfair that only Sona was left out of the celebration because he had no guts to call her and let her know to come home.

I am glad that CVs have started focusing on Dev's character now. We have seen few changes in Dev recently. The way he stood up against Neha and Vicky. The way he supported Sona regarding Riya's Wedding topic. I am starting to get flashes of Mr. Aubodroh and I love it. I want Dev to stand against his mom when she is wrong. I want him to support Sona in front of his mom and give her piece of mind regarding the possessiveness. Don't understand me wrong but I feel like there should be boundary and limitation in all relationship. Dev and his mom needs to figure that boundary out.

Lastly, even though Sona's character is fictitious, I get inspired by her character. The way she handles Mami's insults or Pyari Maa's possessiveness, or her So called husband's anger, or her brother-in-laws cheapness inspires me to be a better person. I know it sounds silly but I can relate to Sona a lot.

Thank you for reading my observations. I can clear my mind out now!!! 😳

Even i am glad the CVs do focus on each and every character sooner or later... Looking forward to the upcoming tracks and how the characters will react to the situations, specially DevAkshi.

Welcome aboard to the KRPKAB family 🤗
All the characters have gone through various ups and lows during the course of 200 episodes... There have been times when I have loved loved loved Dev's character and there have been times when I didn't like the way it was portrayed or not involved at all!

The USP of this show is very close to real characters, a realistic storyline without OTT drama (barring a few episodes) and Devakshi magic!! For me, this has been maintained till now (Devakshi need to buck up a bit though 😉) and I hope we get to see even better episodes going forward.
