Totally agreed. The thought of questioning the consistency of her character did not cross my mind until I read some posts.

She, at first, just wanted permission from Ishwari and rightly so to join the job. Later, after seeing the problems she postponed it for a while for the reasons discussed here. . .

After looking at the financial problems in her family she decided to resume at the earliest and because she had told her MIL that she will not join office soon, it was a must to inform her again.

And then the societal pressure on a DIL to be physically present in all the thick and thin of the house makes her hesitate again.
