Yes it sounds very absurd . But I have heard from the older folks that for some poojas to be done..they stay separately the previous night. Its not considered to be pure to have that intimacy and the next day to do the pooja...So I am not sure abt Tulsi pooja... but I guess that could be the reason why Ishwari asked her to sleep separately.

OR did she use religious purpose for keeping them away ??
