For the first time i guess i felt bad for ishwari..when asha was abt to put garland around her neck
bua dadi stops her saying she is a widow...ishwari looked so hurt even dev ...just for the sake of age old customs ..people's emotions are hurt..sadly in our society still widows are looked down upon and discriminated this way

I was gonna make a post on this but koi nahi...and i so agree with u dear..
i had a tear in my eye...

really there is no such thing called vidhwa in Christian wedding... am not sure in hindu kerala wedding if there is any such... but high time they remove all this... mother is a mother... koi shaadhi shudha and vidhwa nahi...

but i love asha ma... she is so full of love... kaise she brought back that to all smiles... we can hug... do we really need a garland to feel the love...

i am so much in love with this show... every small thing is taken care of... really..!!!

Thank you CVs for showing this scene... and thank u stuti... for this amazing post...!!!

It was disgusting how Ishwari was insulted but Asha saved the day! It would be called rude but if only someone would have spoken up for her and have the garland ritual go on. Why do some people love to ruin a happy moment by so-called regressive things?

I really loved the scene where Asha embarces ishwari and makes her feel better. such a poignant moment. Really love the character Asha .. and i am beginning to think that Dev too has begun to see a lot more of a real maa in Asha.

i think more than any religion, it is in our own country, that widows are looked down upon. The sad part is that women themselves are to blame for this state. I find this rather frustrating when one woman puts down another woman.. what the heck, life is no competition. Also, becoming a widow does not rob one of their identify. She is still the woman and that remains her identity.

i hate this wretch ...Dadi Bua.. she has an obnoxious tongue!

This incident actually recalled me of my marriage. What u people call haldi we call it telbaan in marwaari's. Only women who have their husband's alive can do telbaan to bride. But i in my marriage din get up til my mausi and taiji did my telbaan (both are widows). I tld everyone they have loved me the most and till they don do my telbaan i wont get up. My father second me and then my mausi and taiji did my telbaan. They were so happy.

God finally one show which really potrays the realities of the society
