Question - Why Is It Brahmin VS Bengali And Not Bengal VS UP?

Wherever I am reading any article or even watching TV segments, all I hear and read is that a Bengali girl is getting married to a Brahmin family. Why is it said like that? They can easily refer to it saying a Bengali girl is getting married to a UP family or a UP Brahmin family because mind it...even Bengalis have Brahmins...yes, mostly Brahmin Bengalis are not pure vegetarians but representing two states and two castes are separate things. Its clearly going in the wrong way. Its about making the wedding inter-cultural not inter-caste, right? What if Sonakshi's surname had been a Banerjee instead of Bose? How they have said it then?

The problem is that they want to show an inter cultural marriage with the essence of 2 states. But they are making it a caste thing. Well, Brahmin or no Brahmin, I guess rituals of a marriage in UP across all the castes of the state will be same. Same thing goes with Bengalis. Brahmin or Kayastha or anything else...the rituals of marriage are same among all Bengalis. But the rituals of a UP person and a Bengali person would never be same no matter what their caste is.

So they should simply say Bengali VS UP culture. They are making such a big fuss about the veg and non veg thing, that its getting too chaotic now. People who are not aware of the the Indian culture much will think only UP ppl are Brahmins.

Many people make these mistakes and we have become habitual to them.

Its an inter culture marriage and not an inter- caste marriage...
