i am totally and utterly disappointed with wat they hv done with dev's character and the fact that they dont hv the guts to show dev confronting his mom...i felt extremely disgusted to see dev behaving again normally with his mom even to the extent of asking her permission to go to sona's engagement party...i mean there is a difference between wen a child is minor and and wen a child is adult...leaving aside dev's abnormal devotion toward his mom to the extent that he sacrificed his love widout caring about her feelings i want to say there is also the fact that dev is an adult who has built a business empire...as an adult person he shud hv this much backbone to make simple decisions like whether to accept an invitation or not...
a few days back wen he confronted sona and asked y did she complain to her baba about his phn calls sona responded that she is not a 5 year old kid that she wud go and complain everything to her baba...dev is such a shameless character that her ex-lover has twice taunted her regarding his mom but no effect on him...once wen she first time caught him stalking her in his car and she told him to go and ask his mom about wat he wants in his life...and second time wen she "threatened" him that if he calls her again then she will complain to his mom as he only listens to his mom...any other man wud never know where to hide his face on hearing such taunts from his ex but not dev because he is the so called ideal son...
dev now knows that it is his mom who has sent ritwik to dev...according to her sona is a nice girl and so deserves to be happy but dev has no guts to ask her if sona is so nice then y cudnt she accept sona as her son's life partner...dev has also seen how smoothly his mom lied to him...he knows very well that she does not like sona and that is y in the hospital wen he broke up with sona he told her that his mom never liked her and has always lied to him...so he knows about his mom's feelings toward sona...even after seeing her mom lying, playing games, and even watching her gving money to the marriage agent stealthily...still he is behaving normally with her...
i dont understand wat they want to show...as children dont we hv the right to feel angry or upset with our parents...just because ishwari has gvn birth to dev and brought him up in adverse conditions doesnt gv her the right to own his life, dreams and happiness...no parents hv such ownership rights on their children since they belong to different generations and are different individuals...then y the makers dont hv the guts to show that dev can be equally angry and upset with his mom...dev is dying every minute...wen i watch all the dev scenes from the day of breakup till now i hv seen the character dying every minute...he is suffering he is ignoring his normal life his work and even not spending time with his mom...
i dont understand...dev is ready to destroy his own life...ready to drink himself to death...ready to make himself a laughing stock in front of ritwik and his family but he is not ready to point an accusing finger at his mom...why so...
ishwari has brought him up and sacrificed in his early years i understand all these things...so wat now she wants in return...she has gvn him life so that one day she can destroy it...she has educated him and made him capable of becoming successful only to one day sieze the ground on which he stands so that he crumbles to death...and if ishwari is doing such things then y cant dev stand up and question her that wat gvs her right to destroy his life and take away all his dreams and the love of his life...
how can such confrontation make dev a bad son or a ungrateful son...does this show want to tell us that only by worshipping our parents or by blindly obeying them even if they r wrong we can prove that we r good and devoted children...
if we make our own decisions that are not approved by our parents, if we choose our own path of love and happiness...if our definition of life differs from our parents does that make us bad and ungrateful children to our parents...
i dont know about others but i am totally upset with the dev-ishwari scene today as if the other scene never happened where he caught her redhanded about ritwik...
yestrdy i loved his silent body language which clearly showed how hurt he was with his mom and at the end of the scene the way he walked away by moving away his mom...i dont mean that he has to shout at her or argue with her...his cold attitude, emotionless eyes when luking at her, talking bare minimum with her...all these can carry so much weight...but wat we can see is dev explaining to his mom y he was angry and wat he did with the reporter...and even asking her permission to go to sona's engagement...i am really upset...
