Television serials mostly exhibit Fake relationships which look unreal and artificial.Courtesy Ekta Kapur .when the Initial promos of Kuch Rang were released they came as a breath of fresh air.
They were so promising, different and attractive. Especially Shaheer's role appeared something unexplored till now on Television.

But nothing of that sort happened. Instead everything looked superfluous, and predictable.
Especially the way the story unfolded the mother son relationship promised a different kind of narration,a never seen before presentation and above all a sincere insight into the rarest of cases where the third person entry creates tension between the obsessive mother and her loyal son.

Actual problem is with the script which failed to do justice to any Charecter except the female lead.
The story which revolves round the mother son equation soon faltered in showing that very factor.
If we dig deeper into the charecterisation we will be shocked to find out how fake the relationships are in this yet another c***ched presentation.I feel the basic point itself is not presented well.

Dev,the Loyal Son.: Really? Not at all.To me he never appeared like one. Ofcourse he mouths dialogues like" Mere Maa Bhagawan Hai Mai is Ka Pooja karta hoon.
Actually he never feels committed to his mother. He provides everything security,stability...
But after that he is the master of his own will.He hides his love story to satisfy himself,to have fun under the nose of his mother. Had he told Iswari in the begining itself definitely she would have taken it in a different way altogether. He never bothers about the consequences.

When he broke up with his love that also he did more on impulse rather than the loyalty factor.Once Iswari comes out of danger he bounces back to his own self. Not even twenty four hours passed but he regrets his decision and pines for his girl.
Dev becomes a stalker and pursues his love, again he never bothers about his mother.
Even when he was caught making fifteen calls,he straightly tells his mother he wants to save Sonakshi,
He conveniently forgets to pick his mother absorbed in the thoughts of his lady love who confronted him in the office.
He begs pardon but continues his adventures, going to her house, booking the restaurant..
What sort of a loyalty it is? If he is really loyal then he should not go anywhere nearer to Sonakshi despite his heart break.
Please CVs don't compare him to legendary Sravan Kumar of Treta Yug. He is not Sravan Kumar.
His loyalty is fake.

Iswari the ideal mother; Really? No. Not at all.She is anything but ideal. She has a psychological disorder. May be she suffers from fear, insecurity. Mostly she fears losing importance in Dev's life. Her problem with Sona is she fears Sona's independent spirit, outspoken nature and above all her ability to influence Dev.
She never bothered about Natasha because of business reasons and Natasha appeared less influencing and interfering type.
But the way she refused to see another girl for Dev when some one suggested, clearly shows her mental disorder.
Long back I saw a Tamil movie which deals with a son who has a psychological problem. He sees his mother in his wife.
When I read things like Iswari sees her husband in Dev I feel odd and bad.But who knows? May be...
Iswari is fake in the sense she refuses to see reality and lives in delusion thinking that she is the foremost person in Dev's life.

Dev's Mama is too Fake.; He has double tongue. He is the one who indirectly goaded Dev to take the Break Up decision saying, you left your mother's hand in the middle.
When Dev really broke up instead of lending him mental support he reminds him of his true love.
But when Iswari asks Dev to stay away from Sona this Mama has no guts to support Dev.
He is fake with Iswari and with Dev.

Sonakshi.the only Charecter who is not fake, who is real. Who sticks to her belief.
When she loved she loved loyally.
When she was compelled to break up
She sincerely tried to move on.
She has clarity and conscience to act as per the demands of the situation.

Beyond Dreams, if not for Shaheer I wouldn't have bothered to think write or feel desparate on seeing the way Dev's Charecter is shaping up.
I would have been happy writing my Mahabharata OS that I am writing since one year
And discussing Arjun's charecter in Navi Arjun AT in Suryaputra Karn site.
But helpless as I love Shaheer beyond my dreams.

I think it's a matter of perspective, really. I see where you're coming from and the basis of the arguments you're making is pretty clear. But my view, though based on the exact same instances, is very different. I had different expectations from the promos, first of all. I did not see in them a hitherto unexplored mom-son relationship or a completely new kind of male lead. What I saw was a very interesting space within a love story - the idea of two people not being together and yet being together. That was actually what attracted me towards the show to begin with. And that space is yet to come on the show, I think. Supriya ma'am's Instagram update had given me hope of that too recently...that we're at the moment somewhere between the first break-up promo and the remaining two. And as much as I long for them, I know that the way DevAkshi have parted ways, the follow up cannot immediately be stable. Explosive hona banta hai and so far, it's actually lived up to my expectations in that sense.

The mother-son relationship too, just like Dev's character, has seemed consistent to me since the beginning of the show. The way Dev is behaving is in my eyes quite in line with the way he is. Sona's entering his life had melllowed him down a bit, and her going out of his life has completely disoriented him. A love this intense can bring out both the best as well as the worst in people, and that's what's happening with Dev. For me, it fits.

And as for his being the loyal son or the committed lover, what I have loved most about Dev is how inexorably human he is. And to be human is to be flawed. I personally prefer not to try and fit him into a 'loyal son' stereotype. He does everything he thinks he needs to do for his mother. And the fact that he didn't think of the consequences of hiding his love from her simply point to the fact that he isn't perfect. If he wants to have something just for himself for once in his life, it makes him more relatable to me at least. The same goes for his regretting his decision within hours of making it - he is an impulsive guy. Always has been. And he did what he thought he needed to - what he thought he had to, at that moment. He thought it would be enough for him to know that this is what's best for his mother. But it wasn't enough. Because he has real feelings for Sonakshi that can't be done away with like a faulty business contract. He is a complicated man, but sometimes I've found that his view of life is a very simplistic one. Add this, subtract this and you get a balanced equation. But life doesn't work like that, especially in matters of the heart, and he's experiencing that now in its most raw form. Which is why he doesn't know what to do with himself. He's completely directionless and frazzled. And I'm loving that, honestly.

Stability coming after this would make a lot of sense to me. The way they parted, the anger, resentment, disorientation that followed...and finally a sense of resignation ki jo hai, yahi hai should logically follow. I don't know what the writers have planned, but so far - as painful as it is to watch - they seem to be on the track they carved for the show in the beginning. I just hope they don't stretch the Ritik track too long because then the story will begin to stagnate and become repetitive. It's already hinging on that right now, so I hope they have something concrete planned for the coming weeks.

Respect your opinion, and this is mine.

You speak my mind :/

I am very sad that I m losing ( in fact lost) the interest in this beautiful show. Fabulous actors but story line is going hay wire . Personally I loved watching it and during that half an hour it reminded me of my love story and re-live the moments , we loved fought like everyone but we were not stupid and weak like Sona and dev and we fought for each other and here we are :-)

I can't relate to the story anymore:( very unreal !!

You spoke what is the truth and what has been shown dear 😔 Trust me if not for the lead chemistry and Supriya P, I'd have left the shit long back.

So true when you said Dev failing as a Loyal Beta. Certainly he is not. They have created a bubble which no one wants to break now. If Dev truly is closest to his mother (without the OTT) he would definitely share the reason of his breakup with Natasha.. But he didnt! It was quite huge, and I dont know why Ishwari never bothered 😕 Ishwari is anything but ideal, Dev and Ishwari's relationship gives me creeps now..

Sona is the most standout personality ! Lovely family she has. She and Rithwik make an understading and steady pair. Dev's impulsive nature will put Sona in many dangers in future.. Let's see what this show leads us to. Dixit mansion is a circus. Mamaji's double-dholness is too much to handle, why is he so scared of Ishwari I will never understand !! And why telling Dev half-truth ?? Tell him everything about Ishwari's fixing proposal for Sona etc etc.

Nice to know that you stood up for your love. What hurts me in this show is the way Dev is shown. There are only three ways open for him.
Either he should forget Sona
Or He should take time to convince his mother
Or He should declare he can not leave Sona and go ahead.
But our Writers found stalking as another option.I just hate that option.

You are absolutely right. I feel the charecterisation of Dev has too many loop holes. The mother Son duo look so confused and fake.
They pretend before each other that they are loyal but truth is just the opposite. Both of them hide things and try to cover up.

I fully agree with you - the whole show is fake. There are contractions in every character.

Every character analysis done by you is bang on.

I find too much in consistency in Sona too. I can't understand what attracted her to Dev. IMO it was just a crush / infatuation on a successful businessman else how come a girl can love a person who is week, indecisive (impulsive decision to break engagement and relationship is not decision), can't protect his love. He did not show any courage in telling about his love to Ish or even to his sisters.

This show has started getting on the nerves and as usual CVs have started destroying it in the Ekta kapoor style.

There is nothing in real in the Dixit's except for Neha's and RR"s character. The sisters's presence has been reduced ALOT. Ishwari, Mamaji, and Dev have too many people in one : meaning :

Ishwari and Dev have more than one personality in her and him respectively hence we are confused about their behaviour. Mamaji I thought was sensible but no more - he is protecting Ishwari thereby confusing Dev what to do next.

Sonakshi's family is a breather in all this Dixit Mess. This whole Ritwik track is stagnant for more than a week now - I am bored of the Ritwik track.

I cannot pin point the actual problem as such. But certainly there is something lacking in the show - which may be was there from before but due to Ishwari and Dev creepy Mother - Son relationship now we are able to see the loop holes better.

The actors are doing a fab job hence quitting the serial is tough.
