Both have the right but that does not mean they are right. Both need to use the power to love what they want in life and love it honestly.
Dev Dixit- He himself choose the path. Not the right path but easy one to control all the situation. He forgets the right path and easy path are usually two different things, and when it is time to choose, one need choose the right path over the easy one.
He is really living in illusion. He has denied Sonakshi to give any right in his life but he demands all the rights of her life. Now how beautifully ruined is he.
Sonakshi's remarks pierced the illusion and brought him to the reality. So, the most prominent expression encompassed him, Anger. He needs all of his skills, all of his powers to control the situation but anger does not provide any of that. He is losing his own battle he has ensued. His mom's peace and Sonakshi-love of his life due to this anger. A very bad move indeed.
Sonakshi Bose- Yes, this is her life. She has the power to choose what she wants to do She has the power to control her own life. No one else can do it for her. But she needs to use the power to make her life happy. Her right over her own life does not mean that she will make a sudden decision when she is angry and go for it in the name of moving on. A bad move from her side too.
Anger is a paralyzing emotion. One does not get anything done with it. It is helpless,it is absence of control.
