The truly sad part is Ishwari knows that Dev is incapable of putting his needs before family/Ishwari. Sees him crying but still does nothing.

He is like a sheep who goes to get slaughtered fully aware that his mother is doing the slaughtering, still unable voice any protest.

Sad indeed.
