So am bored and I have pondered over this quite a few times while watching the show these days, so i thought I might as well make a topic 😆 So here is the deal..Since this is a daily soap, a depressing or angsty ending where the lead couple don't get together might not be plausible..Its easier to show such stuff in films cos it gets over in 3 hours and its not emotionally draining unlike a daily soap..Then there is the question of chemistry and emotional investment which almost makes it impossible for fans to look at either of the leads with a third party..And lets admit it, real life is different..Most of us wouldn't choose a guy like Dev in reality in the first place (so no question of break-up😆) and i personally wouldn't even go for a guy like Ritwik in an arranged marriage set up cos I dig tall guys (this sounds so bad but am shallow and i cant help it 🤣)..Of course tall mature guys and not messed up ones like Dev 😆
Now coming to the point, lets forget its a daily soap..Lets forget Shaheer, Erica and Jai..Forget who looks good with who etc..Wouldn't this actually make for a great angsty love story in so far as a character like Dev is concerned? Sonakshi and Rithwik (preferably a taller version 😆) would probably make for a perfect couple..Probably not a passionate, compelling love story but a practical and sane one for sure..And given how she is mature, she'l probably learn to live with him and be happy too..But coming to Dev, there is just so much material there to explore..Since this is a daily soap and Dev-Sonakshi are the leads, neither of them will move on and Sonakshi will probably rescue the messed up boy 😆 But in an alternate universe, if Sonakshi moves on and settles with her husband say in the U.S and they never meet again, how do you think Dev's life will shape up? I for one think it has so much potential if it were say a feature film 😆 Just in terms of how he eventually manages to handle his mom and then of course his own love story..This is when i came up with three scenarios in my head which to me would make for a great story 😆
Scenario 1- He is still pining for Sonakshi and pulls a Devdas..Has become a chronic alcoholic and then meets his own Chandramukhi..She is equally broken and you can have a story about two broken souls mending each other's broken hearts..Except this can have a happy ending cos this time Dev knows when to take a stand and Ishwari knows when to let her son be..
Scenario 2- He decides to commit suicide and while on the train, meets his own Geet who changes his life 😆 She is in love with someone else yet eventually falls for this broken man and he realizes life is not so depressing and it does give you second chances and alcohol and suicide and moping around is not the solution to all problems in life 😆
Scenario 3- He moves on and is happy that Sonakshi is happy, acknowledges that he messed up and decides to start afresh..He doesn't feel the need to fall in love or marry again..Not because he still wants Sonakshi back but simply because he is past that phase and it is not a compulsion that everyone has to marry..He adopts this baby girl from an orphanage and they live happily ever after 😆
You guys can imagine Erica in a double role if you really cannot picture him with anyone else even in these hypothetical scenarios (of course not as the baby girl but in 1 and 2)😛😆
So how would you take this story in such a situation? I know everyone wants Dev-Sonakshi together and that will happen but assuming she moves on, how do you want it to end for Dev? 😆
