THIS has been seriously irking me about Dev. Where's the generous Dev who wanted to give a lion's share of profit-sharing to his employees? His assistant promptly got a new phone for him and transferred most of his data. He did not have the grace to utter a simple thanks.
About the comparison of Dev to Tatas in wondering if he thought he was one of them to get away with rudeness. Not true!! Tatas are KNOWN for their compassion towards employees. They pioneered employee provident fund decades before the government implemented it as a law. Let me quote an anecdote Sudha Murthy narrated in her autobiography about the great JRD:
One day I was waiting for Murthy, my husband, to pick me up after office hours. To my surprise I saw JRD standing next to me. I did not know how to react.
'Young lady, why are you here?' he asked. 'Office time is over.'
I said, 'Sir, I'm waiting for my husband to come and pick me up.' JRD said, 'It is getting dark and there's no one in the corridor.
I'll wait with you till your husband comes.'
I was thinking, 'Look at this person. He is a chairman, a well-respected man in our country and he is waiting for the sake of an ordinary employee.'
Then I saw Murthy and I rushed out. JRD called and said, 'Young lady, tell your husband never to make his wife wait again.'
This is a hot-button issue for me because in real-life I cannot stand people mistreating hired help, employees and the less-privileged - basically anyone abusing their position to humiliate someone who does not have the power to hit back. I hate it because it reflects the huge lack of egalitarianism in India and is an extremely classist attitude.
It's pathetic to see Dev's character being butchered so much in every aspect.
I ws staying away from replying in the topic, but since you mentioned Tatas with such wonderful example, couldn't help but flaunt that I work for Tata How much ever bad the current situation has become, JRD and Ratan Tata's humility and humble personality is one of the reasons I am still stuck with Tata 😊
@ Smallwonder - I can feel what you're trying to say.. If Dev was a middle-class guy and Sonakshi was a rich tycoon, and after Sona initiates the breakup, if she still tried to interfere in Dev's life, doesnt matter if out of guilt or out of compassion etc, we would have called her names 😆 Anyways, I despised Dev earlier when he arm-twisted Sona into getting his job, and when he went behind her back to drive the possible grooms from Sona's life away, and I disliked it now.. But like I said, my disliking for such incidents have come down now provided the situation Dev is in right now.. We all have our family and friends to share our grief with, to channelize our anger and to guide/help us to come out of the love of our lives after a breakup.. But Dev has cocooned himself inside a shell and doesn't want to move on.. His whole heart is with her and he just wants to remain associated with Sona anyhow, at any cost.. That is what's called stalking and it's a criminal offense in India now.. However, looking at his current condition, a guy who keeps on thinking about someone whole day and night would do something like this, there is no surprise there, so I give him the benefit of doubt NOW, not for the previous incidents.. Although I agree being in the receiving end of it is damn insulting for a girl.. Also, the line when he says even if Sona commits a mistake, you will not take it seriously.. In medical profession, 1 mistake might lead to losing 1 life.. Neither the tone was good nor the content.. If Sona's mistake causes harm to someone, the Manager HAS to take action against her.. Flaunting power is so disgusting
P.S. - The personal member bashing does not look cool
Edit - But glad to see some dignified replies from some hardcore Devakshi fans and that's majority that's nice since we can comment on the topic, but commenting on member is not cool😊
