PATIENT- DOCTOR CONVERSATION
The routine of Doctor Sonakshi Bose was fixed. After trying just one job which she left as Mr.Devrath Dixit interfered in it, she had been called again in J.L.S. Hospital with consent of all Board Members and Trustees and had contracted A+ package with her. They knew no one else was as good as Dr. Sonakshi Bose as nutritionist. She had all the more experience in her specific field.
So the routine was fixed. She worked all days in the week. Sunday to Saturday from 9.00 am to 8.00 pm. She handled all doctor's patients plus she had her own consultancy. Due to ever increasing patients list, Dr. Sonakshi Bose had now assistant name Anita. Anita was studying gastronomy as a PhD subject, so with Dr. Sonakshi Bose she had lot many theses to write.
Dr. Sonakshi Bose, as per all doctors was an A grade nutritionist and at this time to afford her was quite an achievement. She was genuine, young and expert in her field. Nearly all doctors recommended their patients to her in J.L.S. Hospital but she had patients from all Delhi's top hospitals. Many well-known people were her patients like Mr. Ahuja and his company's employees, Mr. Agarwal whose daughter Miss. Pinky was asked to get in shape for prospective marriage.
So, it was Thursday which meant Dr. Bose went for round to all wards in the hospital from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm. Dr. Bose said hello to Sameer who had an bike accident recently in general ward. He was completely " lattoo" over her. She gave him a big smile and purposely blew a flying kiss.. His heart jumped and he blushed. She laughed and went to check an old man named whom these days she called him as "dadaji". She checked his blood-pressure and sugar reports and gave a contented smile. They were looking good.
Then she visited the "Ishwari Child Ward". She never looked at the name slab. She was true to herself knowing that till date that name "Ishwari" pierced her heart. Mrs. Ishwari Dixit reminded her that her heart would always be of her son who had ended their relationship just because he didn't know how to handle a situation. She entered the ward and went on to a small boy who had been detected diabetes at the age of 4. She had created a good bond with him and stayed there with him for some time. She said goodbye to Anurag and went ahead to Maternity ward.
Mrs. Seema Kashyap was her patient's name. Seema's husband was in NDA and was posted to Rajasthan at this time. Seema was 8 months pregnant and her in-laws wanted her to make sure she took much needed rest and so they admitted her to hospital and the case of her nutrition was obviously taken up by Dr. Sonakshi Bose.
Here Mrs. Ishwari Dixit and her much loved son Mr. Devrath Dixit entered hospital. Mrs. Dixit had her check up appointment with senior Dr. Sinha. They went to Dr. Sinha's clinic wherein he asked them to have a seat. He said he will go and check the arrangements of the check-up. Mr. Dixit made his mother sit comfortably and got a call from office. He picked up the call and excused from clinic and went all to attend it. Mrs. Dixit seemed restless today so decided to go to Children's ward which her boy had proudly named as " Ishwari Child Ward". Mr. Dixit took a quick glance around childlike and had an urge to at least see Dr. Sonakshi today. He slipped through right stairs and walked towards her clinic, but he suddenly heard Dr. Mehra saying to nurse that Dr. Bose would meet patients after 4.00 pm as she would be on rounds now. "Shit!!!" he said to himself. Now how to find out which ward she must be visiting now. Here Mrs. Dixit was on 1st floor going towards Children's ward when she saw Sonakshi sitting with her patient Mrs. Kashyap.
Dr. Bose: Hello, Seema how are you today? Let me see your reports.
Seema: "I'm fine doctor. I eat 2 bananas and 1 apple today".
Dr. Bose: "That's good. How's baby? Is he troubling you?" She asked with a smile.
Seema: "No no, not at all. He has been a quite today. I wonder y?"
Dr. Bose: "It's okay. It happens sometimes. You are having one full glass of milk every day, aren't you? Calcium content should be high so that later after delivery your bones would be fit and fine."
Seema was observing Dr. Bose. How young and beautiful she is, a strong woman.
Suddenly is asked
Seema: "Dr. Bose you must be 25-26 years by now na? Then when are you getting married? You must marry in correct age so that all other things would also be on time. Do you want a boy or a girl after marriage?"
Dr. Bose: "Well... yes Iam 26 years old. And yes I will marry. I will surely call you Seema." saying so she smiled. "Well is it that important to decide whether to have a girl or a boy? I don't think so. But to tell you, i think i will have a girl and boy both. That completes a family. Isn't it?" Sonakshi felt suddenly comfortable speaking of having her own children... But " I will make my girl a doctor too."
Seema: "Why do you say so? and what about your boy? What do you want him to become?"
Dr. Bose:" Mujhe aisa lagta hain ke hum kuch jyaada hi umeede rakhte hain apne bete se. We always feel that our girl one day would leave our house and settle with somebody else. Isiliye hum unke kabhi koi pressure nahi dete. Par ladkon se kuch jyaada hi umeed karte hain. Hum aisa sochte hain ki woh hi hamare old-age ka support hain. I don't want my boy to feel this kind of pressure. He would choose his own path. Woh job hi bana chahta ho wo wohi karega. Aur mein apni beti ko isiliye Doctor banaungi kyunki agar kisi din usse akele zindagi ka saamna karna pade to wo uss kabil ho aur uss situation se acchese deal kar paye. Mein usse hamesha apne career pe focus karna sikhaungi. Aur mera beta, woh jo bhi career choose karega wo uske hissab se hoga. I would never want my son to carry our burdens on his shoulders. Kabhi nahi!!! I would want him to have his own life, to make mistakes, to accept his mistakes and to solve his own problems. Mein chahti hun wo uske apne sapne poore karein, humare sapne nahi. I don't want him to be weak because of us. I want him to take his own decisions and stand by them and know that we are in his all decisions. My son would be "MAN OF HIS WORDS" who would risk everything for them.."
There Ishwari stood stunned by Sonakshi's words!!! She suddenly felt pang in her heart. All those sentences of Sonakshi touched her heart and she realised that she had burdened her beloved son's shoulders with her insecurities and fear. Her son sacrificed his love, his life for her. Sonakshi's words that she would never let her son carry their burden made her feel shameful. If a 26yr old girl can understand this, why couldn't she? She felt as if she had prisoned her son's happiness. He was right nobody could understand Dev Dixit than Sonakshi.
Dev too had witnessed this conversation of Sonakshi and patient and he felt proud of her. He felt proud that she loved him so much. He knew she understood why he couldn't give name to their relation but today he realised that nobody else would understand the bond of his and his mother better than Sonakshi.
