Based on the current screenplay, I am led to wonder if at all Ishwari's behavior is fuelled by insecurities.

I am led into believing that she is not a mother who is struggling to come to terms with losing the importance in her son's life after his wife comes into his life. From what is being played out, it appears more like a power struggle; power to remain the centre of attraction ( Dev's life revolving around Ishwari with perks like being attended to whether handing over her medicines by his own hands, spending exclusive shopping together),
power to being the first to know of his day to day activities,
power to be the special one on whose demand he decides to sit in puja,
the power to decide HIS life on HER terms.
She SUPPORTS his decision of breaking up with Natasha, Sona and would continue to do so, as long as he remains unmarried. If it suits her, she supports. If doesn't, bring on the Chulha drama, Overdose drama, what not.

This may be termed as effective manipulation. I too have wished that as long as Ishwari contemplates her irrational behavior, there is sense. Today, I wish Ishwari had a little remorse on hearing that Sonakshi and Dev have parted ways. She was too quick to reconcile and advise Sonakshi that SOME relations are not meant to be together. It clearly shows that the indifference was a silent acknowledgement of her win in the so called power struggle against Sona.

It sounded perfect when Sonakshi vocalized to Dev that he does not have the freedom to MAKE decisions of his life. He would remain a puppet to Ishwari's mind manipulation expertise.
At this point, redemption for her character would be baseless. Therapy is out of question as Ishwari by now is very much aware of what she is feeling, behaving and doing. She is aware when she confesses to her brother that she can see Dev happy and that she is unable to find happiness in his happiness and few hours into morning Ishwari; very much aware that the separation could make her son unhappy INFORMS Sonakshi that this separation would make everyone (including her son) happy. The script has moved ahead of a loose end where the possibility of introducing a convincing redemption for the mother.

It gives the uneasy feeling that a woman; a mother, is demanding her first born to pay the price for the upbringing . Wasn't there a selfish or to put it in a positive note, a practical reason for Dev being the chosen one by Ishwari. I read on ARCH's last post that its the loss of identity that she has associated with Dev that she fears losing whenever his wife enters. But its a fact that her identity will remain as Dev's mother, the successful business tycoon's mother whether there is a Sonakshi, Natasha or just any other girl as his wife.

As for Dev, he has remained impulsive when it is anything to do about his mother. Based on last two episodes, I find Dev is holding him and Sonakshi responsible for his mother's condition. It is welcome that he breaks ties with Sonakshi. But I would have preferred that Dev wonders the reason behind his mother's "Unhappiness" w.r.t their relation. I see that he has not once asked his question himself. WHY? Is not she happy for him and Sonakshi. I wish he had acknowledged that his mother's dislike is UNREASONABLE and spoken to Sonakshi that YET, he has to decide to part ways with her.

Such a Perfect post! I love your alternate thinking on Eswari's issues.
I wish he had acknowledged that his mother's dislike is UNREASONABLE and spoken to Sonakshi that YET, he has to decide to part ways with her.

The line above is what I am struggling to come to terms with. I understand that it was a rough situation with your mother seriously ill but his knee jerk reactions to situations is leaving a very bad taste..you sometimes dont like to know the answer so you dont seek it and take the easy way out...this is the vibe I am getting from Dev's actions

I hate such loose ends in such a well written show.
The writers seems to have suffered from short and long -term memory losses or they are very moody person😉

They have forgotten lots of things they started and unable to bring a logical and fair conclusion to them.

like GKB house burning is still not exposed..Khatri drama..Vicky's truth needs to revealed ..
