i know many of you will throw rotten eggs and tomatoes for this caption.
trust me the show cannot be more realistic, only if you stopped looking at Ishwari as any normal mother, Dev as any other son and Sona as a normal DIL.

even though whatever Ishwari said to sona might look insane to many of you, every word she said is true. Love - is between 2 individuals, marriage - 2 families.

Ishwari is that mother who associates her very existence with the bond she shares with Dev. Being his top priority has been her identity so far. today she is in a state where slowly but steadily her beliefs in life are shattering. She is in a state of self denial. I have seen a lot of single mothers with sons, who associated their very existence to the way their son treated them . for them very simple thing like sharing the same model of phone, or even going out together to a family event also becomes a measure of their success as a mother!!!. can you even image such a mentality, if you can then surely you can understand Ishwari's character.

imagine you believed all your life that know your family and suddenly you get to know something weird from an outsider. wouldn't it shake you to the core???? Dev never for once confessed about his love to his mom, and suddenly Bose's family tells her that they know about the relationship since a few months!!!!! Can you even image what kind of shock it is to Ishwari???? It takes a lot for any individual to some out of the state of self denial. the story is about this journey of ishwari.

Coming to Dev , for him he has not grown emotionally. the only colour of love that he understands is gratitude. period. even with Sona, if you carefully observe, all his love is because of a single point that she is his support system and he feels a sense of gratitude " for her being there". yup it may look like he takes her for granted, but in his view- she is there for him. when faced with a situation where he needs to weigh love between sona and ishwari, his scale of measurement is very different from what we imagine " its not love but gratitude". and because of this single reason he decides to break his relationship with sona. he is yet to experience the other colours of love and for me that journey would be the story for him.

Coming to Sona, she has only seen a normal family. she is yet to see a family which went through a lot of turmoil. to be she is a good person, but she lacks the basic ability to understand that there is a huge difference between maika and sasural for any girl. she is yet to face a situation where you need to make a very conscious effort to become the "apple of the eye".. she is mature but not enough to get into relationship with a man like Dev, whose struggles are very different from an average man.

Very well said.. though I cannot justify Ishwari in all incidents but I can see her fear.. I am not supporting her but there are mothers like Ishwari in our society.. there are many dev dixts also... but what I felt is Sonakshi is a gem.. very beautifully painted character... there are a lot to learn from that character..

Yes.. I like the very basic nature of Sonakshi and the way she goes and talk to her openly.. I think that threatens Ishwari even more..
Soon is a pure gem and has heart of gold... Ishwari also knows that and admitted so many times but her insecurity overshadows her all thoughts..
