It's been just few weeks after Sona went on her own way, leaving everything behind.. The Dixits', 'Ishwari'maa and Dev... Yes.. everything which made her the most happy person at one point and also the most sad one at another... She's only thankful for the experience that life has given her.. She's not the kind to sit and brood over whatever happened...🤗
Now Sona has mastered them all..
To live in solace with her own love story that she has had the chance to love and experience her special moments...
To enjoy the peace amidst the happy family that has always been there with her no matter what...
To be passionate and proud about her job and cherish the personal satisfaction that it brought her in every possible way...
To make the perfect halwa following Ishwari's recipe religiously just the way to get it for Dev's liking...
Yes.. a perfectly tasting halwa with a perfect mix of love and hate..
Love, for the love of her own love story and the person that she loved and still loves and always will.. Not necessarily she goes behind him begging for a return love to complete her love story.. She, like a real woman has decided to take control of her own love story to keep it incomplete and take it to completion, if she wants to.. The beginning was outlined from one side.. the middle part was filled with colours from both sides... the ending cannot be a one-sided...
Hate, for the hate of her different states during her course of the love story.. Be it the way she was taken for granted, or for the way she had been humiliated, or for those speechless moments spent uncomfortably within the suffocating walls of her so-called love kingdom... And for those few rude moments of truth where she was challenged to introspect her own suitability for being the woman of right fit for her love story.. To remind her the moment where she was forced to doubt her own capacity and strength and worth... The halwa making became her test to her own will power to keep sanity intact and hold on to her lessons with maturity...
Never a day passed without her finishing the halwa as part of her lunch... She packs it as a regular dietary need for her life... She never knew whether it tastes the same as Ishwari's making.. She never knew whether it is up to the mark of Dev's liking.. All she knew was that she never put less efforts in getting it worked out the way she and Dev would have wanted it.. meaning wanted their life to be...
Today, It's just like any other day that she followed her hospital routine.. She covered her ward visit to check on her patients' health reports and collect data for new diet chart making.. She came back to her cabin just before lunch time. She was too engrossed in her paperwork and she missed to hear the knock on her office door. She lifted her head only on hearing a "Ms. Bose" and that too from a very familiar, intimate voice close to her heart...
The voice that never failed to make butterfly flutter inside her.. Triggering all sorts of emotions that she tries hard to bury deep inside her...
But Sonakshi never gives in to the momentary slip of emotions... She has mastered to keep herself on guard from such slippage..
"It's Dr. Bose for you" she said with a straight face.
The pinch of hurt intended didn't fail to reach her target.. Though she felt the hurt within herself too, she decided to stay strong through this ordeal.. She is in no state to afford any slippage that could bring a big crack in her determination...
Dev walked towards her desk in silence. He didn't wait for her to offer a seat. He sat on the patient's chair in front of her. He thanked the table in between them for keeping himself from reaching out to her. He didn't want to bring in any more damages than what he has already brought into their relationship.
"As you say, Sonakshi.. Dr. Bose" he said in a polite yet determined tone.
Sonakshi was quite.
"Will you not ask me why I am here?" He asked her.
"Should I?" She asked him.
Both looked at each other without saying anything. That moment was everything that they wanted to freeze.. For reasons of not knowing how to take it forward and also not wanting to move past the bliss that it brought in.
Sonakshi looked away breaking their eye contact. Dev started missing that moment of connection already.
He looked around her office cabin. As if looking for some signs for him to know that she's still his Sona. Deep inside he had no doubt about her love for him and he could never feel anything otherwise. But the way he let her go, he lost his insight to the pain that he had brought to her and to the healing that she was going through... Every time he comes to think of it, he couldn't help but get angry on himself for being so self-centered.. for thinking only about his duties, his gratitude, his commitment, his dedication to his family and the impact of his feelings, for Sonakshi, on all these.. In which he never considered the impact on Sonakshi's feelings for him...
"Is there anything that I can do for you Mr. Dixit?"
"Yes, everything.." His voice was like a whisper.
"Pardon.. Are you talking to me?" Sona didn't falter to break him through
"Yes, Dr. Bose.. I don't see anyone else here" Dev tried to bring some light weight moment to ease the tension around them.
Sona didn't seem to appreciate that. She's not in a mood for anything nonsense.
"If that's a joke of yours, then it's not a good one Mr. Dixit"
Dev wasn't offended. He was prepared for any kind of reaction from Sonakshi.
"Just trying my luck" He maintained his stance.
"Sorry to say. Today is not your lucky day, Mr. Dixit."
"Yeah. I am getting to see that, Sona.." Dev tried hard to stop calling her name...
She wanted to say about Dr. Bose but stopped mid way.
His eyes started wavering at her desk and the items on it. He just then realized that she was ready to have her lunch.
"Can you share your lunch with me?" Dev was surprised too by his own invitation into an uninvited party.
"Did I Mr. Dixit..." Sona couldn't complete her statement as she saw the scene very much disturbing to stop him..
Dev opened her lunch and was looking at the items like a kid. The moment his eyes spotted the halwa, he was frozen. In an instant, his eyes were wet and he made a hardstop to not let the tears drop.
Sona just kept staring at him and was getting to understand each and every emotion flowing through his eyes. She didn't miss to see his body stiffening for a moment and then it started relaxing slowly. In all through this scene her body stiffened and relaxed too. When she realized how she had been affected by his presence and actions, she hated her own for allowing to be indulged in the moment of emotional weakness. As she watched him tasting it as if he had been starving for days, she lost all her rational thoughts and let herself to feel the peace. Looked like he was at peace too with the moment and nothing else mattered to him.
"Perfect" is what both said in unison.
