I'm Alina. I'm new here. Ever since the suicide spoiler is out, the following scenario has been playing in my head. I thought I would share it with you.
"You're mother doesn't like the Bangalan stealing you away from us!" screamed his aunt. He was stunned. It can't be true. It must be hard for his mother to see Sona in a new light. That's why he tried to get them to spend time together. "Ma," he started to explain.
"I knew this girl had an agenda," his aunt ranted. His uncle tried to stop the verbal onslaught on the girl he loved. He was his mother to refute her accusations. But she didn't. Her face was turned away. Didn't she see how happy he had been these past few days? It was because of her. She gave his a new reason to smile every morning and a new dream when he went to sleep at night.
"I'm sorry. I should go. Take care of yourself aunty," Sona whispered and walked away. His heart plummeted to the ground. "Thank you very much. We will be grateful to you for leaving my Didi and Dev alone," his aunt shouted folding her hands. His feet moved to stop her. He felt a tug. His mother's hand held on to his pant. Her eyes were shut tight. But the tears that flowed out would haunt his dreams.

She rubbed her eyes frantically. She wasn't going to crumble. So what if her heart was breaking, she was a doctor. She had to pull herself together. She had worked here before. Some of her former patients were still here, they might see her. She had to maintain her dignity in public. She would weep buckets in her room.
She felt a strong tug. "Dev!" she smiled in relief. He had chased after her. Just like in the books and romance novels Elena reads. She slowly turned around. She would let him woo her. They could talk to aunty together. She wanted to be a part of his life not steal him. "It's me," came the creepy voice of Vicky, his cousin. She glared at him pulling her dress out of his grasp. "Why you like to date on rich guys is it? Come with me I have both money and time to spare," he offered. Of course he had nothing but time, he prefered to live on Dev's money rather than accomplish anything. But this wasn't the time or place to tell him that.
She kept walking with her head held high. She could stay strong. She could put on a brave face. Just for a few more minutes.
