I know everyone hates to talk about her, but she is the most complex and complicated character to date on KRPKAB. I can see streaks of her in Neha.
.I love it that Mamaji is so sedate and instrumental to bringing order back into the house. I adore the man. He was the pillar Ishwari leant against when she had young kids to raise and he continues to be just that. Solid and strong voice of reason.

He sees Ishwari through her silly melodramatic tantrum and understood the motive. I felt like shaking Ishwari for behaving like such a spoiled child, shouting at Dev and ruining her health. (Frankly I don't see why her cooking is such a big deal. Just have Kichu/Bhola cut up stuff and wash up after her !? Kuch bhi.. just for drama common sense goes on holiday ).

And after achieving her goal of making everyone miserable (esp Dev) with her tantrum, she didn't get peace. What did she want? Dev to grovel and cry like a small child and beg her for forgiveness? How emasculating. He is a grown man, not an errant child. Ugh.

So when he pushed back and refused to eat altogether, her fight went flat. She kept telling him, study hard and then you'll take care of me, so let him! Why is she suddenly upset that she lost that status of care provider?! He has been independent and in charge for awhile now.

No one can reason with hurt feelings of a melodramatic mother. It can be triggered by the smallest of things and made into a HUGE issue. Poor Dev, he's going to have a tough time whoever he marries.

Loved Sona's family. Such a sweet caring bunch, anti thesis of the Dixits. The parents were hurt that she hid her love, but it didn't stop them from being happy for her. Mature happy people are like this, supportive and loving. Everyone just rallies around each other and it's so heartwarming.

I fear of what will happen next. Ishwari's drama meter is still running high and Dev does not see that his mother is not wholeheartedly accepting. I feel bad that he will have to play politics to keep both his Mum and Sona happy.

GKB will be winding up her game. Ishwari won't say anything but will let GKB do it for her. I still feel Sona is not going to go into marriage with all this background drama.

I am so happy DevAkshi are happy but it feels like someone put a bandaid on a boil. The pus is still there just not visible. And bacteria multiplies inward if not cleaned out.

*sorry for the weird description*😆

Hahahaha...

She couldn't even see and feel how happy Dev was to tell her. His face as he waited for her answer, like it was life or death.

Very well said @sageflower7.

Possessiveness is detrimental for any kind of relationship. Whether it be between parents and child, between siblings, lovers or friends, possessiveness does not nurture healthy progress, in any relationship. This aspect is being showcased very well in this serial.

If Eshwari really wishes for Dev to be happy, then she needs to let him share his love with several people in his life. Insecurity of future indifference, rejection, from the son, once Sona becomes a part of his life, is eating her up and making her behave in a manipulative, dramatic manner. So strong is her love, that Dev is unsure of approaching her and confiding his love for Sona, least he should hurt his mother's feelings.

Maybe the Creative team will showcase how Dev matures emotionally and handles both his mother and sweetheart with ease, with occasional doses of melodrama from the mother thrown in for the dramatic effect and trps. However, I hope the story line does not progress into the usual one with tension between the maa-beta-saas-bahu. I wish they also show the character of the mother developing positively, exhibiting some emotional levelheadedness, learning to accept & respect the woman in her son's life.

As much as her behavior irks me, I must say that veteran actress Supriya Pilgaonkar is playing the role of an insecure mother with exaggerated emotions, perfectly. She portrays a variety of expressions making her character believable. There are several people like her, in today's world.
