Yesterday, Ishwari drew a line for Sonakshi to stand behind. It was curt and to the point.
"You are here to watch over my health and wellbeing. You preside over what I eat and drink. My good health now may all be due to your advice. But my children do not need your help. They are fine, and they can eat whatever they want. They have always eaten what I made for them happily, so don't interfere in their matters."
Sona saw the gravity of the statement. Being in the know, she had freely given health advice to all, at her home and at Dev's, where she was made to feel she was a part of. But she had crossed a line. She just realized that at that point. She had interfered in matters of Ishwari's house and annoyed Dev's mother.
Radha Rani does it all the time, and gets away with it. Because she is the Bhabhi. Sona has gotten a little carried away by her newfound love with Dev, and thought she could take liberties with his mother as well. Your mum is like my mum too.
But Ishwari is having her own struggle for the spot on the main pedestal in Dev's life.
She fails to see that Dev can have more than one pedestal in his life.
Sonakshi was right to bring up talking to their families about their relationship. It's time. Sonakshi does not like keeping it a secret from her parents, though her Dada and Elena already know and approve. I agree that telling your parents about a relationship is akin to marriage preparations, which may not be what Dev wants at the moment, with Neha's marriage just done.
But he does not see, that all Ishwari wants is to know. She believes she is beside Dev in all matters he faces.
"I can't go to work with you everyday, son. But by helping to keep your things tidy and proper, I feel I am helping you somewhat, standing beside you..."
I can see both POVs. Now they all need to meet halfway.
I love how Sona and Dev disagreed and stood by their convictions. Each believes differently but the sky didn't fall on them. Sona respected Dev's opinion, and the right to have it, and also didn't manipulate him into changing his mind. Dev will listen to opinions, but he has the conviction to finally do what feels right in his gut. He is no Joru ka Ghulam when it come to serious matters.
It is Ishwari's journey as much Dev and Sona's. Dev does not want to share anything yet, because everything else means responsibility. Sona is a secret joy to him. I get the feeling, but keeping her a secret is not doing her any justice. She is facing unfair situations because of it from Ishwari and Radha Rani.
