"Yaar Mr.Aubh...I mean Mr.Dev , aap ne tho neend hi kharab kar di !"
"I'm sorry Ms.Elena..woh.."
"Mujhe Elena hi bulao, Ms.Elena, main kya koi professor lagti hoon?"
"Ha..an, woh..umm..actually Elena, main soch raha tha, kya aaj aapke parents ghar par hain?"
"Ohho!! Tho Dev babu, aap mere cousin se milna chahthe hain, ... not bad, aapme romantic nature ho sakta hai, yeh sunkar bahot accha laga.."
Dev shifted uncomfortably around his chair, still not sure about his idea.
"Ab " Elena glanced to take a look at Asha , Bijoy and Sourabh watching TV.."woh tho ghar par nahi hain, actually chachi ji ke ghar gaye hain..tho sirf Sona aur main hoon ... aur main soch rahi thi ki ek walk ke liye jaon, ..tho Dev babu , you are welcome !!
Dev's lips turned upwards as his eyes gleamed with excitement.
"Ab aayega maza" and saying so, rushed to the living room to inform the rest about Mr.Dikshit coming to discuss about an "important progress" regarding Ishwari Auntyji.
Hain? Yeh kis progress ke bare main baath kar rahe hain? aur unhone Elena ko bulaaya aur mujhe nahi..zaroor kuch gadbad hain - Mr.Dikshit tumi ekdum impossible.

The calling bell of Bose family rang sound and clear.
"Shona beta, jaa kar dekh na - tumhar boss honge"
"Haan, baba"
Sonakshi opened the door to find Dev staring at her with those beautiful hazel eyes swirling with love and admiration. Suddenly his hand stepped out from nowhere and placed a rose in front of her.
Yeh, ekdum pagol hain. Maa-baba ke saamne ?
"Mr. Dikshit ! Aap yeh kya kar rahe ho ?!" Sonakshi silently screamed with wide eyes.
"Ab kya kiya maine? Roses tho romantic hothi hain na...?" asked Dev with a saddened pout.
"Romantic zaroor hota hain Mr.Dikshit, lekin maa-baba ke saamne nahin!!"
"Huh?!.." Dev straightened up, hastily glancing into the house and stunned at the sight he received in response.
"Lekn Elena ne tho kaha..." Dev trailed off as realization dawned on him.
Sonakshi turned around, glaring at Elena.
Elena ki bacchi, tut ho gayi - baad mein dekh , mein kya karti hoon
Elen simply smirked.
"Arey Dev babu, aap bahar khade kya kar rahe hain ? Andar aayiye na, aur ye kya? Oho, rose ..huh ? For someone special? "
Dev fumbled, when the attention fell on him - and suddenly offered the rose to Mrs. Bose.
"A beautiful rose for a beautiful lady" he said, stealing a pointed look at Sonakshi.
Smooth Dev. Very smooth.
Asha Bose just blushed. Sonakshi rolled her eyes in amusement.
"Arey aap andar aayiye na, Dev babu, khade khade kya kar rahe hain ..."
"Accha, mausi .. meri na ek parcel aayi hai, mein collect kar ke aaon ?"
"Theeke Elena, jaa ... Shona ko bhi apne saath le jaa ...bahot raat ho chuki hai."
"Nahi !"
"Theeke!"
They said simultaneously, one smirking while the other glaring.
"Shona, yeh tu kya keh rahi hai ? Ab tak kehthi thi ki Elena choti hai, uske saath koyi na koyi saath mein hona hi chahiye, aura b itni raat ke samay mein mana kar rahi hai? Tujhe ho kya gaya hai?
Sonakshi blinked rapidly, trying to think of an excuse.
"Uh, hih..wo..woh mein keh rahi thi ki, parcel kal le lenge.."
"Nahi, Sona - mujhe usme se padhaayi karni hai" and glanced at Sonakshi with mock innocent eyes
Elena, aami tomar hatya karbo aaj raat.
Dev tilted his head in favor and smiled reassuringly at her.
Tu bohot lucky hai Ki dev bohot innocent aur dil se acche hai - aur mein unki har sahi baat manti hoon.
"Theeke, may bas das minute mein aayi"
Sonakshi took her stole from the stand and headed out with Elena.
"Arey Dev babu, agar hame pata hota ki aap itni der se aayenge, tho ham kuch aur bhi khaane ke liye intezaam karte.."
"Arey sir, iski koi zaroorat nahi hain..."
"Nahi nahi, aapne hamari Shona ke liye itna kuch ki hai, itna tho banta hai... Sourabh chal mere saath, bahar se thodi sabzi khareed kar aate hain.."
"Arey..nahi iski .."
"Dev babu, ekdom chup, aap bas dinner ka maza lijiye"
And saying so Bijoy and Sourabh stepped out of the house, leaving behind only Asha and Dev in the house - since Daadi had gone to visit her sister to their native place.

"Dev Baabu, aapko coffee kaise lagi ?!" Asha screamed from the kitchen.
"Bohot acchi hai Aun.. I mean Mrs. Bose - bilkul Son... I mean bohot acchi hai"
Suddenly he heart a violent thud and the furious clash of metal utensils followed by hard rush of footsteps . He kept his glass of coffee on the table and looked up only to find a petrified Mrs. Bose staring at the kitchen as if she had seen a ghost.
"Mrs. Bose, kya hua , aap theekh tho hain ?"
"B..Bo..Bolna"
"Huh? "
"Wah..wahan bolna hain" she said frantically pointing to the kitchen.
Dev was utterly confused.
Kya bolna hai ?
"Aun.. I mean Mrs Bose, kya bolna hai ? Kahan Bolna hai ?"
"Wahan, khana mein bolna hain !!" she shreiked panicking Dev.
Kya?! Khaane mein bolna?! Khane ko kya bolna hai ? Aur yeh itni dari hu kyon hain ? Sonaskhi tum kahan ho ?
"Accha autyji ..chalo hum ..hum chalthe hain" and he held Asha by the hand and went to the kitchen.
"Accha khana kahan hai, Mrs. Bose ?"
"Huh ?! What do you mean ? Yahin !"
Iss ghaar mein sab thode paagal hain lagta hai. Miss Bose itna serious kaise hogayi?
"Achcha, ach.." he suddenly spotted the katori of curry - he rushed towards it .
"Accha, Mrs Bose kya bolna hai ?"
"Huh?! Kya bolna hai matlab ? Bolnanai hai...bhagaao !!""Tumi na ekdom boka Dev Babu"
Uh-huh. Beti se jo dosage mil raha tha woh tho kaafi nahi tha - ki ab mujhe maa se bhi sunne ko mil raha hai. Ajeeb kism ke log hai - yeh khaane se bi baat karte hain ?!
"Theeke, theeke"
He slowly bent down slightly, over the bowl and whispered to it "Bhagaoo"
Asha Bose was stumped. Itna bada bolna ghoom raha hai - aur yeh sabzi se baatein kar rah hai ?!
"Kya?!Tum kya kar rahe ho ?!!"
"Han, haan ek minute z ..zor se bolta hun...!"
Dev stuttered .."BHAGAOO!!!"
"arey, bolna ko bhagao !!!"
"Auntyji, main bolna ko kaise bhagaon? woh to mujhe janm se hi mujhme hain"
"Kya?! Tum bolna ke saath janme the ?!!"
"Haan, aur aapne hi tho kaha tha khaane mein bolna hai"he said holding up the katori with his hands"Tho isilye.."
"Are khane mein nahi khaanA mein bolna ha...tumhare sir pe bolna"and with that she ran toward him with the chappati belan in her hands.
"Auntyji aap yeh kya kar rahi hain ?!!" Dev exclaimed running away from her into the hall.
"Mr.DIKSHIT." a shocked voice rang throughout the area. Both of them stopped and looked at the door - to notice a shocked Bose family stare at them
"Maa. KI HOLO ?!!" "Aap De.. I mean Mr.Dikshit ko aise.. kya ..?"
"Woh bolna, uske sir pe" she said petulantly
"Mere sir pe bolna kaise ho sakta hai Miss Bose - wo tho ek verb hai ..." Dev exclaimed frantically and explained the entire situation to her.
Soon enough the entire family burst into laughter.
Dev! Tumi ekdom cute!
"Mr.Dikshit" Sonakshi sarted after the laughter riot subsided "Bengali mein bolna matlab..matlab wasp hota hai, - bharre? aur khana matlab room - yaani ki kamra hota hai."
"Oh."
Suddenly Asha realized her mistake.
"Dev Babu, I am so sorry, main tho bhool hi gayi thi ki aap is family ki member nahi ho..." she trailed off noticing the starnge look between her daughter and Dev.

"Sir?"
"Huh?.." he muttered, breaking from his trance, looking up at Tina, only to notice a painfully understanding look in her eyes.
"Woh actually abki meetin... Mein saare meetings ko postpone kar deti hoon sir."
"Nahi, Tina - mujhe apna kaam karne do, koi meetings postpone karne ki zaroorat nahi hai."
"Ok Sir" Tina said, turning to leave. But she turned around once again.
"Sir aapke liye aaj ek parce aaya tha..usme"
"Baad mein Tina"
"Sir sirf ekad chocolate biscuit thi, aur uske centre mein ek bada sa A'."
Dev froze.

"Mujhse kuch nahi ban sakta. I'm hopeless! Aap mujhe jhel kaise lete ho.?" whined Sonakshi, looking at the mess of the kitchen she had made in her house.
"Sonakshi...", two arms wrapped around her waist and turned her around.
"Shotthi, mujhe driving nahi aati, mein jhoot nahi bol sakti, khaana nahi bana sakti kuch bhi nahi kar sakti, aap mujhe jhelthe kyun ho?
"Kyuni I love you."
She glanced up at him, her eyes misting over.
"Main aapki kharg..I mean bunny jaise baton se pyaar karta hoon.." she smiled shakily, "Aapki jhoot na bolne ki kaaran se aapki izzat karta hoon."
"Aur aapki khaana na banana ...well yeh mujhe romance ke tips deta hai.."
"Oh really?" she said, smiling at his cheesiness.
"Haan."
"Ab ghoomo"
"Aaj aapko aapke Mr. Aubhodro sikhayega ki masterchef way mein chocolate biscuits kaise banate hain"
"Pehle.."
His hands trailed from her shoulders to her wrists, guiding it take over the batter
"Ise lo", he said looking at her mischeviously "Aur phir.." his hands brushed over her waist , to pick up another bowl ...
"Ab yeh chocolate uthao" he said, his lips moving against the nape of her neck - sending shivers down her spine ..."Aur."...
And they were finally done. And Sonakshi amidst all the nerve scattering things he had done to her, something she will never get used to, had finally learnt, properly to bake chocolate biscuits.
"Aur.." her fingers traced a capital A' on its centre "A for Aubhodro!" she exclaimed happily, suddenly turning around anf flicking the tip of his nsoe, with the chocolate cream.
"Aubhodro? Now I'm rude,..? Mein dikhata hoon Rude.." and he proceeded to tickle her mercilessly - their laughter mingling to generate a magical, musical, lively synchronous rhythm that would continue to ring in the house for years to come...

"Sir?"
"Haan.. woh ..woh bscuits andar bhej do"
Tina understood - which was why she was still standing there.
"Sure Sir."
You know we say that the leaves are green in colour? But what would you say, if I said that in fact, it was every colour except green. A leaf must be the most colourful object in this planet. - because it is of every colour other than gree. Why? Because it absorbs every colour other than green - and reflects only the the green light - thus making it appear green to us. Monotonous. Just like Dev. Sonakshi had been the ray of sunlight, he had desperately clung to, absorbed its shine and warmth - reflecting no light, only shine , absorbing it all. He had become colourful, felt beautiful - from her purity, the one he had absorbed. And now the leaf was wilting, turning into a sickly grey - deprived of its love, warmth it received. And if it had finally found an opening in the dark cave, it will and will only grow towards it.
