Instead of Dev proposing with flowers, candlelight dinner, he proposed with something so much more precious, he proposed with opening himself in front of her and barring his soul to her. This was so significant because since the show Dev has been so closed of and reserved, the only moment we see him open is with Sona, so his proposal to Sona consisted of the openness which only comes around Sona. He not only told Sona that he loves her, he also told her that 'now you know everything about me, that you are special because you know the things I haven't shared with anyone'. Moreover, he also told her the reason he fell in love with her, very simply he told her she taught him how to live. I loved how direct he was, there was beating around the bush. It was clear and simple 'I love you Miss Sonakshi Bose'. This coupled with his 'like a man loves a woman' made me go weak in my knees, I can't even begin to imagine Sona.
I loved the backdrop he proposed under. Again it was no fancy restaurant, it was Dev's old home. He was telling her that I come from here, this is who I am and this is my past. A home where he lost everything will now symbolise a place where he got everything. He was telling Sona that I want you too see my roots, my foundation and then accept me as your lover.
I loved the simplicity of the dress Sona was wearing, it highlighted that this was an extraordinary love story of two very ordinary people. The simplicity of the proposal just made me fall in love with show. Such a beautiful and a simple proposal and so damn effective. Cannot wait for the future episodes.
Also that damn hug. It gave goosebumps all over my body. So well expressed by Erica and Shaheer. That utter relief on Dev's face when Sona asked for the hug was beautiful and the way Sona just buried herself into him. After so long she got what she wanted and that was so obvious in her hug. She just buried herself into Dev like she wanted to for so long. And the way Dev was holding onto her, it was such s relief for him that she felt the same way and that for the first time when he did something for himself, he got that. Laying open his heart so bare in front on anyone is so hard and it's must have incredibly tough for Dev but he did it nonetheless and that hug, that hug represents acceptance and love. I could feel both of their happiness in that hug, their relief on getting what they desired the most. That wasn't just physical content it was an emotional one as well.
