9th &10th June came by & went, but it did leave a mark behind for us to cherish. Initially, I wanted to write something about Dev's realization but ended thrashing that idea, because no words can do justice to the scenes enacted by Shaheer & Erica. I was in awe-land. And a special special mention to the writers who are doing an amazing job of not disappointing us š³ And finally, the weekend is almost over & I've decided to get it out my chest!
How brilliantly was the realization scene performed by Shaheer? I've no idea how many times I've watched it.š
Thank you Neha, Riya & Nikki. If not for you guys, your brother would've been a lost cause!! They wanted him to imagine himself with Natasha on his engagement day. Dev at the start resisted in listening to his sisters because he didn't believe in such trivial things. But when he gave in, he let his mind take control of his feelings. Slowly, step by step he saw her coming down the stairs, he was mesmerized by her beauty as she slowly walked towards him, he took her hand & slid the ring, & he looked at her with his eyes filled with love & happiness. He was beaming with joy because she was finally his & that smile on his face said everything. Ms. Bose looked so delicate & beautiful. And then, he opened his eyes to realize that it was all his imagination. That look on his face screamed out thousands of emotions - Ms. Bose? How? When? Why? Kya bakwaas hai ye?? He said to his sisters. He was in denial. He'd to think about what he'd just seen & left from the room before his sisters could figure out something was wrong... He walked into his room shaken up by his very own alien feelings, still wondering what was happening to him. He was feeling weak with so many questions running in his head & the energy in him was draining out. He quickly walked ahead & held on to the staircase. He was in shock & needed some support. What he had imagined, felt so real. He had to make sure it was really happening to him. So, he closed his eyes...and saw Ms. Bose again, with that beautiful smile on her face.
Shaheer was simply, absolutely, amazingly stunning!! How do you emote so well?? How do you do it??
Still in denial, he questions himself, Kya mein Ms. Bose se? Am I in love with Ms. Bose? With an uncertain confidence he said to himself that he wasn't in love & he would've known if he was in love with her. And suddenly, the moments he'd shared with Sona begins to flash in his head...how he'd bumped into her the very first time, how he got her fired from her job, how he threw her phone in anger, how she helped him in a game, how he saved her from falling, how he danced with her, how he listened to her dream of falling in love & finally how he started sharing things with her. I absolutely loved how the CVs put their moments in a sequence, from unknown strangers who never looked eye to eye, who later on became good friends. I really wished they had added the scene where he was drooling at Sona, when she was washing her face. He comes out of the trance, to realize he has changed. Mein badal chukka hoon...Nahin.. Mein badal jaatha hoon, jab unke saath hoon, jab woh meri saath hoti hai. Mein, mein hota hoon!! Confusion clouds over him, still unsure of what's going on. Aise kaise ho sakta ai?? Still unable to believe & still in denial, he says she's his best friend & he can share anything with her... Boom!! The moment he had spoken those words he knew he'd gotten his answer.
Dev begins to give himself a pep talk in front of a mirror, where he begins to discover his inner thoughts. He rambles that his sub-conscious should have told him. He'd been completely clueless. As he began to assimilate this new feeling, he calmed down, trying to tell himself that Sona was something more than a friend. Loved how he kept saying, Aise kaise ho sakta hai repeatedly. It was like he was reassuring himself again & again that he was in love. Love for him was very silly, he didn't believe in it & he'd said the same thing to Sona. But now, he's feeling the exact same way as Sona used to feel about love. There was this pleasure on his face when he said her name, Sonakshi..., Sona...!! Loved how his tone turned all husky when he said her name.
At one end, we saw Dev finally realizing that he was in love & on the other side we had Sona, still crying out, still coming to terms with the fact that love story was shattered before it even began. Like Dev, she didn't voice out by saying, Aise kaise ho sakta hai, but she still couldn't believe it was happening to her. She was in denial too. And she was trying to comfort herself by trying to move on. For her Dev, will always be Mr. Dixit & not Dev, her prince charming. Erica nailed this scene. š The background score for Sona was perfect! All she could do was cry!
As a new day began, Sona woke up to the door bell ringing. When she opened the door, she was surprised to see Dev standing in front of her. She was so happy when he told her that, he couldn't marry anyone else because he loves her. That joy on her face was so real. Sona as a character was so simple... she just wanted to be loved. A simple I love you is what she wanted to hear from Dev. She didn't want drama, she didn't want a lavish proposal. But it was all Sona's imagination. Aise kaise ho sakta hai?? How could Dev be in front of her, when he was getting engaged on that day? What she wanted could never happen.
Sona & Saurab's conversation was one of their best conversations so far. We'll would love to have a brother like him. How perfectly he explains to her that, Dev not loving her back was his problem & not hers. And finally we see Sona, accepting the reality. My another favourite part of the episode is when she says, it would have been better if she hadn't met him at all, then it wouldn't have hurt her this much. And continues to say, that by meeting him she knows what love is all about...!!
"'Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all."
- Alfred Lord Tennyson
Sona, am so proud of you. Love needs courage. You definitely need lots of courage not blame someone else for your feelings, but instead take responsibility of your actions. She tells Saurab, that its not Dev's fault. Finally, when she is trying to get over Dev, Saurab beautifully explains to her that, when you love someone so much, there is still a little hope left for that person to feel it, even if it takes time, that person will feel/realize it... trying to tell her to not give up & to still HOPE!
Dev & Sona together create a proper balance. They balance out their feelings & emotions so well & this is exactly what we are going to see in the future. How they understand each other perfectly.
Dev & Sona, has definitely made me a mushy person!! š Now, waiting for 14th June! Sigh!!
